![]() On January 21, 1950, US Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black, one of the greatest civil libertarians in the history of his country, warned of the impact of Cold War anti-Communist hysteria on American liberties in a speech to 500 delegates at a conference of the American Jewish Committee. His speech on this day was titled “Fear Obscures Reason.” And in one of his most famous opinions, Justice Black and his colleague William O. Douglas were the only two Supreme Court Justices to dissent in the case of Dennis v. United States (decided June 4, 1951), in which the Court upheld the constitutionality of the Smith Act, making it a crime to advocate the overthrow of the American government. Though Justice Black was defeated in his attempt to protect the rights of the American people against their own government in 1951, on June 17, 1957, in the case titled Yates v. United States, the US Supreme Court held that the First Amendment did protect radical and reactionary speech, unless it posed a “clear and present danger.” In the Yates v. United States decision Justice Black further wrote: “Doubtlessly, dictators have to stamp out causes and beliefs which they deem subversive to their evil regimes. But governmental suppression of causes and beliefs seems to me to be the very antithesis of what our Constitution stands for.So vital did Justice Black view the rights afforded to American’s citizens by the First Amendment, he realized that without it the United States would be destroyed by an elite class of corporate and governmental oligarchies whose sole aim was in war profiteering. Justice Black further believed that the American peoples sole protection against these warmongers rested with a free press utilizing the First Amendment to its fullest extent in preventing future wars…and stated so in his June 30, 1971,scathing opinion striking down the US governments attempt to prosecute the leakers of the Pentagon Papers that revealed the full horrors of the Vietnam War and how the American people were continually being deceived by their own government about this horrific conflict: “In the First Amendment, the Founding Fathers gave the free press the protection it must have to fulfill its essential role in our democracy. In the 44 years since this momentous decision by the US Supreme Court that had Justice Black affirming and praising the American mainstream media establishment for their upholding of the highest ideals of their Constitutions First Amendment, Udo Ulfkotte, one of Germany’s most highly respected journalists who was formerly an editor for the German main daily newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ), stunningly and shockingly revealed to the world during a television newscast that the First Amendment in the United States was not only dead…but that the entire US and EU mainstream media establishments had all become warmonging propaganda organizations 100% controlled by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Ulfkotte in this shocking video stated: “I’ve been a journalist for about 25 years, and I’ve been educated to lie, to betray, and not to tell the truth to the public. … The German and American media tries to bring war to the people in Europe, to bring war to Russia. This is a point of no return, and I am going to stand up and say … it is not right what I have done in the past, to manipulate people, to make propaganda against Russia, and it is not right what my colleagues do, and have done in the past, because they are bribed to betray the people not only in Germany, all over Europe.Ulfkotte’s book, Gekaufte Journalisten [Purchased Journalists], about how the CIA took over and now controls all of the West’s mainstream media organizations is available only in German as no English speaking country will allow it to be published as the consequences it details with are nearly beyond comprehending due to their sheer horror and unimaginable magnitude. Just one example of how horrific our world has now become due to the Western mainstream press being nothing more than an extension of the CIA, Ulfkotte explains, lies in the fact that NATO defines a battle casualty as when a combatant is killed outright or who dies as a result of wounds or other injuries before reaching a medical treatment facility or help from fellow soldiers. Or in other words, once a US or NATO soldier has been wounded, as long as he or she is physically touched by another soldier, medic, doctor, etc., and then dies, they are NOT a casualty of war. To how effectively this insane NATO propaganda ploy has been for the US and EU, and the Western mainstream media covered up, Ulfkotte sadly states, can be found in death statistics of The First Gulf War (August 2 1990 – February 28, 1991) [codenamed Operation Desert Shield] that stated that only 148 US soldiers were killed…when in FACT, by May, 2007, the US Department of Veteran Affairs were forced to release documents showing that the real death toll among American soldiers in this war was over 73,000…a staggering total proving that more US troops died in this conflict than in the entire Vietnam War! And what exactly did these over 73,000 American soldiers die for exactly? Well, according to one of the United States most respected journalists for the past nearly 50 years, Bill Moyers, they all died for nothing! Moyers explains this in his article titled “The First Iraq War Was Also Sold to the Public Based on a Pack of Lies” where among other stunning revelations he reveals… “As Scott Peterson reported for The Christian Science Monitor in 2002, a key part of the first Bush administration’s case “was that an Iraqi juggernaut was also threatening to roll into Saudi Arabia. Citing top-secret satellite images, Pentagon officials estimated in mid-September [of 1990] that up to 250,000 Iraqi troops and 1,500 tanks stood on the border, threatening the key US oil supplier.”Not being content with having needlessly killed over 73,000 US soldiers in the First Gulf War, barely a decade later these war mongers lied the US and EU into war again in Iraq and Afghanistan! As to how many US-EU-NATO soldiers have died during the past 12 years in both Iraq and Afghanistan the Pentagon will not say…but according to the research of Russian historian Boris Borisov, as of December, 2014, American population statistics, local death notices and US census records (2010) appear to show the number may be as high as 65,000! Historian Borisov, it’s important to remember, using this same statistical method, examined the mysterious disappearance of up to 7 million people in the United States during the 1930’s Great Depression concluding these American citizens could only have died (starvation/mass execution) in one of the great holocausts of the 20th Century…but stated that “Only when the USA collapses will we be able to learn many interesting facts about the crimes of the US government against its own people, including the genocide of the continent’s local population.” Now if there is just one point you take away from what you have just read it is this….There is NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING that can be believed in any mainstream newspaper, website, or television broadcast, you name it! NOTHING! The reason for this is because they ALL are nothing more than propaganda organs of a cruel and despotic police state intent upon your destruction and mass global genocide through total war. And as Edward Snowden’s leaked documents PROVE BEYOND ALL DOUBT from the NSA’s own DISRUPTION: Operation Playbook…these monsters have not only taken over the entire US-EU mainstream media establishment, anyone opposing them by daring to tell the truth is now targeted for destruction! If anyone of you right now wants to believe that your freedoms and liberties are just as secure as Justice Black tried to make them…I’m sorry to be the one to tell you that it isn’t true. It matters not if your nation is the United States, Germany, Australia, France, you name it…the world you think you know doesn’t exist anymore…it hasn’t for decades. What you are NOW, even if you don’t acknowledge it, is a combatant/pawn in a global war started by powers you can’t even see, for reasons you can’t even begin to understand, and with an outcome that will be more horrible and cataclysmic than your imagination could ever envision. Our mission, as opposed to those manipulating and controlling you, is one of truth and education via information devised from centuries of experience in how best to free those who wish to know what is really happening. That makes us particularly dangerous to these monsters, and as evidenced by the massive propaganda campaign against us conducted over these past decades. We survive, however, due to one simple thing…those of you who continue to want to know the truth. And as I write these very words, our ability to continue to perform our mission now hangs in the balance as the truths we have revealed so for, and the even greater truths were preparing to release in the near future, pose one of the greatest dangers to these powers they’ve ever encountered. And standing between “them” and “us” is YOU! Source |

Israeli jets struck several sites in northern Gaza on Sunday, as Israel blamed Hamas for launching a missile into Ashkelon and ordered all Gazan border crossings to be closed. The Palestinians say a pro-Islamic State group is trying to provoke a war. The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said the Air Force has hit a number of “terror infrastructure sites” in the northern Gaza Strip, the Jerusalem Post reports. This was in direct response to a rocket fired on Saturday from Gaza, which exploded outside of Israel’s southern Ashkelon region in an open space. There were no reports of injuries or damage. It is the second time in days that Gaza has been bombed after obscure militants launched unguided missiles into Israel, with a similar scenario unfolding Thursday night. In both cases, the Omar Brigades, a radical Salafist group that has pledged allegiance to Islamic State (formerly ISIS/ISIL) claimed responsibility for the attacks. Hamas, which is the dominant Palestinian group in Gaza, has claimed that the Salafists are trying to spark another major conflict in the region to seize power. Hamas has reportedly hunted down and killed a leader of the rival group, while a Twitter account thought to be run by the Omar Brigades said Sunday that the latest strike was “in protest” against the imprisonment of their fellow jihadists in Gaza. However, Israel has said it will not take into account who exactly is responsible for attacks from a Hamas-controlled territory. “Even if the shooters last night were jihadist groups rebelling against Hamas by firing at us, we view Hamas as being responsible for everything that occurs in the territory of Gaza,” Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon has said. Ya’alon on Sunday issued an order to close the only two operating border crossings between Israel and Gaza. The crossings – Kerem Shalom and Erez – will be opened only for humanitarian purposes until the security situation changes, the order said. The other three crossings into Gaza are still not operational. The latest attack near Ashkelon comes a day after the IDF deployed at least two Iron Dome anti-missile batteries in southern Israel. On Thursday, several massive explosions rocked the Gaza Strip amid reports of Israeli jets spotted in the area. The strikes took place in the western part of the strip, near the Maqousi Towers residential area. The last time Israel cut off Gaza completely was in November, as it shut down the Kerem Shalom and Erez border crossings. Rights activists say the border closures threaten the population of the already extremely isolated Gaza Strip, which has been in dire need of rebuilding and humanitarian aid since Israel’s deadly seven-week military operation in Gaza last summer, Operation Protective Edge, which claimed the lives of more than 2,000 Palestinians. The latest spike of violence in the region follows a relatively calm. Last summer’s brutal crackdown by the Israelis came after regular missile attacks on Israeli territory. Source |

The VirScan blood test, developed by scientists from Howard Hughes Medical Institute, makes it possible to detect over 1,000 different strains of viruses in the virome — the vast array of all the viruses that inhabit a particular person — thus an ideal alternative for current diagnostic tests that targets specific viruses one at a time. The description of the research and report of its findings have been published in the June 5 issue of the journal Science. “We’ve developed a screening methodology to basically look back in time in people’s [blood] sera and see what viruses they have experienced,” says Stephen J. Elledge, the Gregor Mendel professor of genetics and of medicine at Harvard Medical School and the director of the research. “Instead of testing for one individual virus at a time, which is labor intensive, we can assay all of these at once. It’s one-stop shopping.” Some of the viruses can hide inside the body for years in an inactive state, long after the initial infection has been removed, however, for some reasons they might reactivate and cause grave problems for their human hosts. Others my enter body without showing detectable symptoms for some time. For these reasons, it is very important to know the viruses to which a patient has been exposed throughout his or her life. By diagnosing whether an individual was infected with a dangerous virus years before, physicians can begin treatments early, Elledge further added. “This [test] could be very valuable… What this allows you to do is look into the past and measure a person’s exposure to previous infections. That has important advantages, because you can detect these infections that go to latency. You could screen blood from patients and organ donors in this very broad manner and predict potential future issues with viral reactivation,” said Iwijn De Vlaminck, a biomedical engineer at Cornell University in New York. Blood samples for the research were collected from 569 donors from four countries — United States, Peru, South Africa, and Thailand. Researchers discovered that people in each country had been infected with a unique array of about 10 viruses. The new comprehensive test can be performed for as low as $25 per blood sample. Source |

The US Defense Department has recently held a small exhibition to show off latest killer robots that had been built for Congress and media outlets. The exhibition was not open to everyone. The event that lasted for only a few hours showcased how far the US has advanced in its ability to kill large groups of people in just a few minutes with the help of robots. The Pentagon promised members of Congress that there will be many more killer robots, and other terrifying technologies, designed to win the wars of the future. “The event showcased innovations from more than 60 Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, and medical laboratories and engineering centers across the country. More than 100 exhibits were featured, including the Army’s High-Energy Laser mobile display, Air Force’s BATMAN high tech head-mounted display – helmet research that protects from and helps heal traumatic brain injuries – the Navy’s MAGIC CARPET enhanced flight controls and Marines’ semi-autonomous FERRET robotic system. Exhibits were opened to Members of Congress, STEM-participating high schools, Pentagon employees, media and special guests,” a description of the event said. Source |

Humanoid robots won the day at the DARPA Robotics Challenge, slightly outperforming their quadruped rivals at overcoming obstacles and completing tasks in a simulated disaster environment. South Korean team KAIST grabbed the top $2 million prize. Team KAIST’s transformer robot, HUBO, proved to be the most reliable and adaptable of the competitors, possibly due to its innovative design. The 5-foot-tall robot enjoys both humanoid traits, handy for various tasks such driving a car or drilling, and ones of a robotic vehicle, allowing it to quickly convert into a wheeled bot by simply kneeling, thus gaining in mobility. The winning droid was designed and produced in collaboration with the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) Humanoid Robot Research Center and Rainbow Co. Florida-based IHMC Robotics took second place and $1 million with its walking robot, Atlas, while Tartan Rescue team from Pennsylvania came in third, earning $500,000 with a caterpillar-wheeled transformer CHIMP. NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory also competed with an impressive gangly-limbed RoboSimian capable of crawling and rolling away when needed, as well as clinging to objects with claws. However, that robot failed to put a plug into a socket, and eventually ran out of time on the obstacle course without scoring enough points to place. The DARPA Robotics Challenge on Saturday continued with a tough eight-task competition. Twenty-three robots were taking part in the finals, trying to score the most points on several courses, which simulate a disaster scenario inspired by the 2011 accident at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. Robots had to complete the following tasks in under an hour: drive a vehicle, exit the vehicle, open a door, enter a building, locate and close a valve, cut through a wall, remove rubble or navigate tough terrain, climb stairs, and deal with a surprise task. The competition began on Friday morning at the Fairplex in Pomona, California and will wrap up Saturday evening. Four identical obstacle courses have been built to speed up the process, allowing for simultaneous competitions. After Friday’s rounds the top three teams were Tartan Rescue, Nimbro Rescue and Robosimian. About half the teams competing were US-based, and the rest came from Japan, South Korea, Germany and Italy. A team from mainland China withdrew from the finals, reportedly due to visa troubles. Many robots were seen falling over and the some of the teams decided to skip some of the more difficult tasks on the course, like operating a power drill. Robots that crawled, rather than walked, had a competitive edge, falling down less. Source |
