Plans are advancing for the construction of the first industrial park in China to help with the rapid development of the country's nuclear power industry, with detailed engineering and construction preparation work at the site in Haiyan, Zhejiang province, expected to start soon.

Kepco partners to develop Spanish uranium

Korea Electric Power Corporation (Kepco) has agreed to invest $70 million in Berkeley Resources Ltd's Salamanca uranium project in Spain in return for an offtake agreement entitling it to 35% of the project's output.

Standard for portable nuclear skills

The UK's National Skills Academy has completed work on a standard for training developed in-house by firms in the nuclear sector. Workers that take part in 'NEF Assured' courses run by their employers will be sure the skills thus developed will be recognised later in their careers.
Third Japanese reactor to load MOX

Tokyo Electric Power Company's Fukushima I unit 3 is set to become the third Japanese nuclear reactor to load mixed oxide (MOX) fuel after receiving approval from the governor of Fukushima Prefecture, Yukei Sato.
