Parliament Moves To Approve Polygamy, Over Iranian Women's Protests

An Iranian parliamentary committee has approved in the first reading a bill to allow men to take a second wife. The bill has been on the table for years but only now has it been approved over the fierce objections of women's rights activists. Meanwhile, Iranian female activists, facing increasing pressure from authorities, have been nominated to win the UN's Human Rights Prize.
