EXPLORATION & NUCLEAR FUEL: Urenco expands enrichment capacity
Uranium enrichment company Urenco reported that its production capacity significantly increased in 2009 through expansion projects at its European sites and will be boosted further this year with the start up of its new US facility.
NEW NUCLEAR: Supercomputers study reactor core behaviour
A new computer algorithm that enables scientists to view nuclear fission in much finer detail has been developed by the US Department of Energy's Argonne National Laboratory. The code could be used in the development of new reactor designs.
EXPLORATION & NUCLEAR FUEL: Paladin, Alliance: output, resources up
Paladin Energy has enjoyed record quarterly uranium production and sales despite slower than expected progress at its Malawi mine. Meanwhile, Alliance Resources has confirmed a 16% resource increase at its Four Mile uranium project in South Australia.
