Areva subsidiary Transnuclear has been awarded a contract by Urenco USA to transport uranium hexafluoride (UF6) from Converdyn's Metropolis conversion plant in Illinois - the only conversion plant in the USA - to its new enrichment facility in Eunice, New Mexico.

Rostov 2 is expected to enter commercial operation on 16 October, according to Russian state nuclear enterprise Rosatom, which said commissioning tests were nearly complete.
Bellefonte decision next year

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) will officially decide on completing Bellefonte 1 in the first half of 2011. The TVA board will consider which route to take when determining its Integrated Resource Plan in the first half of 2011. Should it decide to complete Bellefonte 1, the licence application for units 3 and 4 would require significant revision taking up to two years.
