REGULATION & SAFETY: Magnox plants could operate until 2012
The UK's only remaining operating Magnox nuclear power stations, Oldbury and Wylfa, are looking at operating well beyond their current scheduled closure dates. 
NUCLEAR POLICIES: German utilities seek clarity on energy policy
Two of Germany's largest power utilities - EOn and RWE - have warned of the financial impact of the government's proposed tax on nuclear fuel, saying that investment in new generating capacity may have to be cut if it is introduced.  
REGULATION & SAFETY: Fires in Chernobyl areas 'not a risk'
Forest fires in Russia are now burning in areas contaminated after the Chernobyl accident, but analysis from France's Institute of Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN) indicates there is no health risk.
