UN General Assembly urged to support draft resolution on human rights defenders
ARTICLE 19 has, with a group of human rights defenders and civil society organisations, written a letter to member states in regard to the draft resolution, '
Recognizing the role of human rights defenders and the need for their protection'. We urged governments to reject amendments, tabled by the African Group, China and Iran, designed to weaken the text.
