Moscow’s sanctions against Ankara over the downing of a Russian jet by Turkey are now affecting various sectors of the Turkish economy, including tourism, construction companies and food exports, a new report says.
Russia’s relations with Turkey soured after the Turkish military shot down a Russian Sukhoi bomber plane on November 24, 2015. Ankara claimed that the warplane violated the Turkish airspace near the Syrian border, though Moscow denied the accusation.
In reaction to the incident, Moscow has imposed a series of sanctions against Ankara.
Russia has banned the import of Turkish fruits and vegetables, poultry and salt. It has also forbidden the sale of charter holidays to Turkey for Russians.
The sanctions also impose restrictions on Turkish firms willing to work on construction projects in Russia. Moreover, Turkish citizens working for companies registered in Russia are facing restrictions.
Russia has also stopped working on a new Black Sea pipeline that was to increase its gas exports to Turkey.
Turkish economist, Erhan Aslanoglu, said Ankara risks losing USD 3.5 billion annually in income from Russian tourists, who had long been flocking to Turkey’s Mediterranean resorts.
In 2014, Turkey was the second most popular holiday destination for Russians, attracting some 3.3 million tourists.
According to Aslanoglu, Turkey may also lose USD 4.5 billion each year due to the cancellation of its construction projects in Russia.
Regarding the gas export, Aslanoglu said, “If Moscow stops or delays the natural gas flow, that will definitely have a serious impact on the Turkish economy.”
Turkey relies on Russia for 55 percent of its natural gas and 30 percent of its oil.
The Russian ban on imported Turkish food is another blow to the economy, which, according to Turkey’s Agriculture Ministry, will mean losses of about USD 764 million each year.
“The crisis with Russia might affect citrus growers especially, but the government has promised to help them out with subsidies,” said Muhittin Baran, deputy head of Turkey’s Fruit and Vegetable Markets Association.
Russia is Turkey’s ninth largest export market at approximately USD 6 billion. Most of the trade involves food, consumer goods and textile products. Russian officials say they plan to replace produce imports from Turkey with those from Central Asian countries, Iran and Morocco.
Following the shooting down of the Russian plane, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin denounced the incident as “a stab in the back by the accomplices of terrorists,” saying that it would have “serious consequences” for Moscow-Ankara ties.

Mr Farage’s Volvo, which was involved in the incident. When the emergency services arrived, they told a shaken Mr Farage that he had been the victim of a malicious act.
Nigel Farage, the controversial leader of UKIP who’s previously been dubbed the “most successful patriot in Britain”, revealed this weekend a frightening attempt on his life.
While it happened in October 2015, this is the first time he has gone public about it.
Farage said his car sped off a busy French motorway after a wheel on his Volvo came loose while making his journey home to Kent from Brussels.
“It was the middle of bloody nowhere and I was caught in a very bad position,” he told the Mail on Sunday.
Police told Farage the wheels had been deliberately tampered with, suggesting a deliberate attempt on his life and who else could have been but a political enemy, a leftist.
“The French police looked at it and said that sometimes nuts on one wheel can come a bit loose – but not on all four,” Farage said.
The Volvo V70 comes with a single locking nut on each wheel, which should be immune from interference but if the other four nuts are loosened, then the remaining one is likely to sheer off as soon as the car is traveling at speed.
Farage revealed he’s had previous death threats, but didn’t know who was behind this attempt: “I haven’t got a clue. Quite frankly, the way my life’s been over the past two and a half years, nothing surprises me.”
He decided not to ask police to pursue the investigation because he didn’t want to “make anything of it”.
“The mechanics were absolutely certain of (foul play), but I have decided to take no further action,” Farage said.
This is not the first time Farage has found himself in a life threatening situation.
In May 2010, he was pulled from the crushed cockpit of a plane after an election banner caused it to crash, leaving him with broken ribs, bruised lungs, facial injuries, and chronic pain.

Statistics from Australia’s Department of Immigration and Border Protection show that most immigrants from 2014-2015 came from India, with China coming in a close second. In total, around 50% to 60% of immigrants came from non-Western countries.
Immigration statistics from just a few decades ago show that there has been a huge turn-around from when most immigrants came from Europe, and which has put Australia on track to becoming minority white.
Did this just happen by accident? Read on and judge for yourself.
During the 1970’s and 1980’s, some of Australia’s politicians were privately talking about how they were going to make the country “Eurasian”.
In 1983, former Foreign Minister, Bill Hayden said “There’s already a large and growing Asian population in Australia and it is inevitable in my view that Australia will become a Eurasian country over the next century or two. Australian Asians and Europeans will marry another and a new race will emerge; I happen to think that’s desirable.”
“[We] should welcome the process of gradually becoming a Eurasian-type society. We will not just become a multicultural society – which seems to me to be a soft sort of terminology anyway – we will become a Eurasian society and be the better for it.”
Former Liberal Prime Minister, John Gorton, put this in even more blatant words:
“I think that if we build up inside Australia a proportion of people without white skins, then there will be a complete lack of consciousness that it is being built up … and that we will arrive at a state where we will have a multi-racial country without racial tensions – and perhaps the first in the world.”
This is why leftists aren’t just for multiculturalism but they are plain anti-white European people. They want European genocide everywhere in the world, despite how much they call it peaceful “diversity”.

Donald Trump dropped a zinger during a campaign stop in Biloxi, Mississippi on Saturday.
He said Obama and Hillary created the Islamic State.
“They’ve created ISIS. Hillary Clinton created ISIS with Obama — created with Obama,” Trump said.
Trump: Iran Deal Was So Bad It’s Suspicious
Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump says the nuclear deal with Iran is so bad, he is close to wondering whether it was done poorly on purpose.
“It’s almost like there has to be something else going on,” he said Saturday night at a rally in Biloxi, Miss. “I don’t think there is, I just don’t think they’re competent.”
Trump said he couldn’t believe the U.S. would agree to a deal with Iran that did not include the return of Americans held prisoner in Iran.
“Who would make that deal?” he asked, suggesting Tehran was celebrating as the agreement was being negotiated.

The world’s biggest e-commerce firm Alibaba is interested in a suggestion from President Putin to create a platform that would help Russian companies export abroad.
“We have seen the initiative of President Putin to create an electronic platform that would help Russian small and medium enterprises to enter export markets. And we hope very much that we can contribute to its implementation,” said Alibaba CEO Jack Ma.
“This platform will allow Russia to sell products in China, Asia and all around the world,” he added.
According to Ma, Russia should develop internet finances and logistics. He added the younger generation should develop the platform.
“We believe that the world belongs to the young people. The history of internet technology has seen twenty years and the next 30 years will open up new opportunities in this area. Alibaba hopes together with the youth of Russia to create a new platform, adapted for commercial development,” Ma said.
On November 11, Alibaba made a record $14.3 billion in sales on Singles’ Day, a Chinese holiday intended to celebrate single life. This is more than double the e-commerce sales in the US from Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday combined. Alibaba has been holding these sales since 2009. November’s $14.3 billion smashed 2014’s total of $9.3 billion in gross sales.
