The Financial Stability Board reviewed distributed ledger technology as part of a meeting to set its 2016 priorities this week. The international body said it proposed a framework for categorizing distributed ledgers and assessing their impact on global financial stability.

Bitcoin exchange Cointrader has announced that it is shutting down following what it claimed was a debilitating hack. According to a notice posted to the service’s main website, the exchange “has closed its doors effective immediately”.
