NEW NUCLEAR: Angra 3 construction
Work may now begin to build Brazil's third nuclear power reactor after regulators issued a construction permit. Areva are contracted for the work, which should be complete in 2015 and result in a 1270 MWe boost to Brazilian nuclear capacity.

While Petten in the Netherlands was recently announced as the site for a new research reactor for the production radioisotopes, the Canadian government has called for project proposals to produce medical isotopes without using a reactor.
INDUSTRY TALK: Inauguration of Eunice uranium enrichment plant
Urenco has celebrated the readiness of its new uranium enrichment facility at Eunice, New Mexico. Officially named 'URENCO USA/LES', and to be operated by a subsidiary of the same name, Eunice will have a capacity of 5.7 million SWU.
