itBit is hosting a private gathering of financial professionals in New York on Monday. The "Bankchain Discovery Summit" is expected to draw attendees are said to draw largely from major banks, brokerages and exchanges. The event is not open to the press, according to an itBit representative.

IBM is among the sponsors for a forthcoming India-based hackathon set to focus on bitcoin, the blockchain and FinTech. Called HackCoin, the two-day event is scheduled to be held on 1st and 2nd August at the Bombay Stock Exchange in Mumbai.

Entrepreneurs and investors Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss have filed an application for a limited liability trust company in New York. The filing for Gemini Trust Company, if approved, would enable the Winklevoss brothers to launch Gemini, their forthcoming bitcoin exchange product.
