A new study has revealed misconceptions by users and non-users over bitcoin's usability, functionality and anonymity. Notably, it found that, where non-users were put off by its perceived complexity, experienced users demonstrated poor understanding of how bitcoin works and overrated levels of privacy.

A decentralized social network founded by Reddit’s former cryptocurrency engineer, Ryan X Charles, has moved to the proof-of-concept stage. Launched in August, DATT (Decentralize All The Things) is still being improved before the final launch, receiving updates to its peer-to-peer protocol, database and user interface.
