IPU: Proposed resolution would be backward step for free speech and freedom of religion

We urge the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) to reject a proposed emergency resolution, tabled by Jordan, on “respect for religions and religious symbols” as incompatible with international human rights law, including the rights to freedom of expression and freedom of religion or belief. Read more >Along with 28 other organisations from all five continents, we call on the IPU to unequivocally reject the proposed resolution.

UN: Universal Periodic Review News

This week we made oral statements in response to the outcomes of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) ofGambia and Egypt.
 
We also made submissions to several upcoming UPRs, including NepalRwanda and Myanmar.
