UN: Open Letter to Candidates to the Human Rights Council

A19 is concerned by clear failures by Council members to take effective measures to address violations of human rights for which they are responsible, particularly of a gross or systematic nature, or to fully cooperate with the Council and its mechanisms. Asia: Infrastructure Investment Bank must act with more Transparency and Accountability

A19 calls for the proposed Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank to engage with civil society in a more transparent and accountable manner. The AIIB was proposed by China and is supported by 37 countries to focus on providing credit for countries in the Asia Pacific region. Read more >

PRESS RELEASE

South America: Negotiating the Right to Information

A19 South America has joined delegates from the 20 signatory countries of Principle 10 of the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development to continue negotiating a regional agreement on RTI. We strongly urge delegates to agree that the final result should be a legally binding convention, which provides for strong rights of access to information, public participation and access to justice for all persons. Read more >
