I couldn't help but notice that over the past few weeks the Empire has become extremely silly—so silly that I believe it deserves the title of the World's Silliest Empire. One could claim that it has been silly before, but recent developments seem to signal a quantum leap in its silliness level.

Is Russia the evil empire? Only in the eyes of Western nations. Under the dictatorship of the true aggressor, the US, there is blood being spilled all over the world: yesterday's 'freedom fighters' have become today's IS terrorists, butchering civilians in the Middle East, US-initiated wars have caused a massive refugee crisis in Europe, people in US prisons around the world are tortured and killed, heroin from Afghanistan is being trafficked all over the world thanks to NATO, neo-Nazis are committing genocide in the Donbass thanks to US support. So, is Russia the aggressor? Not by a long shot.

Comment: The world has not had decisive and sane leadership with the true backing of the people in who knows how many years. Since 9/11, the situation has seemed like the world had gone insane with lies, war, and sickness. Russia and specifically Putin is like a vaccine of truth against the pathology that has spread throughout the world based on the West's 'leadership' contaminated with psychopaths armed with lies and manipulation.

Perhaps Russia's actions in Syria will shock normal people of conscience back to life and the reality of the situation we are facing as a species. At this moment Putin is wielding both the truth and sword effectively. May he continue to swing for what is right, decent and virtuous.

With people around the world worried about the escalating war in Syria, today former U.S. Treasury official, Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, told King World News that with four straight days of Russian bombings in Syria, Putin has sent a decisive message to the West.

Eric King: "Dr. Roberts, about this situation in Syria, obviously the Russians have bombed key targets and the rest of the world is watching and saying, 'Putin just took over and put a stop to the madness.'"

Dr. Paul Craig Roberts: "It certainly looks that way. You know Putin told the world at the U.N. meeting, 'We can no longer tolerate the state of affairs in the world.' So he told the United States, Europe, and the other puppet states such as Canada, Australia, and Japan that Russia will no longer tolerate this. And two days later they (the Russians) have taken over the situation in Syria.

Essentially the United States is responsible. This (warring force) is the group that came out of the forces we created in Libya to overthrow Gaddafi. And when Russia blocked the intended U.S. invasion of Syria, Obama sent these people to Syria and pretended they were a free Syrian army of oppressed Syrians who were fighting to liberate their country from a dictator who used chemical weapons against his own people.

But the United States lost control of them, even though Washington's clandestine operations still seem to supply them. So basically the Russians have said they can't tolerate complete and total chaos in the Middle East and it's going to stop before it engulfs Syria...

Kunduz_hospital.jpg

US special operations forces - not their Afghan allies - called in the deadly airstrike on the Doctors Without Borders hospital in Kunduz, the US commander has conceded.

Shortly before General John Campbell, the commander of the US and Nato war in Afghanistan, testified to a Senate panel, the president of Doctors Without Borders - also known as Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) - said the US and Afghanistan had made an "admission of a war crime".

Comment: Well, it certainly makes a change from denying war crimes!
Comment: This is but the latest US war crime in Afghanistan, and not even close to the worst.

In 2009 the US air force carried out an aerial attack on the village of Azizazad, methodically destroying 8 homes and killing around 92 civilians.

Also in 2009, the US military dropped bombs on the village of Granai, which was the site of a firefight between the US and Taliban forces. As many as 147 civilians were killed, most of them women and children.

Does anyone need any more evidence that these psychopaths do not care at all about civilian deaths? They realize, of course, that they must "condemn" such deaths, but that is merely for public consumption, to reassure the ignorant masses that they are not ruled by a cabal of conscienceless predators.

Israel will provide Russia with intelligence information about opposition sites in Syria to facilitate Moscow's military operations, Channel 2TV has reported. The Israeli network said that a senior delegation of Russian army officials will arrive in Israel on Tuesday to coordinate the military cooperation.

Comment: Very interesting development, considering the fact that Israel's continuous illegal violation of Syrian airspace was outmanoeuvred and neutralized by Putin in brilliant strategic move. Not to mention, the incident, where four Israeli F-15 fighters had to retreat with the tail between their legs, after being chased away by six Russian Sukhoi SU-30.

The delegation will be led by First Deputy Chief of General Staff General Nikolai Bogdanovsky, who will meet his Israeli counterpart, Major-General Yair Golan as well as senior officials in Israeli military intelligence, the air force and the Mossad. Channel 2 noted that the visit follows the meeting between Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow three weeks ago.

According to the media report, Israel will submit more requests to the Russians in exchange for "attractive" offers to facilitate the Russian army's military operations in Syria. It also revealed that Netanyahu and Putin have agreed on several issue in principle, including a Russian pledge to stop the flow of weapons from Syria to Hezbollah,as well as to allow the Israeli air force to carry out operations freely in Syria, even in areas where the Russian army is stationed on the Syrian coast.

Comment: So now the picture becomes more clear. Israeli media wants us to believe, that Netanyahu has the upper hand in the upcoming negotiations. And that he is willing to share vital intelligence information for a price, which Russians are willing to pay. Yeah, right. We bet they were similarly optimistic right before Netanyahu's visit with Putin, and we all know how it turned out. Putin isn't a fool, and not a psychopath like Netanyahu, either. We shall see how negotiations will turn out.
Comment: It appears that even the war criminal, Tzipi Livni, realizes that in light of recent developments Israel should drop the usual "Iran and Hezbollah are mortal enemies" rhetoric. Would Netanyahu play ball? We doubt that, considering his recent 45-seconds 'death stare' at the UN.

People, who believe that the European Union is a monolithic entity that conducts business that benefits individual European nations, have made a huge mistake. Today, the EU is a crumbling bureaucratic intergovernmental organization with several centers of power serving their own interests. Each of these are seeking to convert the EU into a super state controlling Western Eurasian, exploiting its nations, borderlands and a number of third world countries through a sophisticated set of economic and political tools. The competition among European and external players affecting developments of the union is ongoing for the right to become the main control center of the arising super state. So it was yesterday and so it is today. But, very soon, the EU political model will be changed under the influence of sharp internal circumstances and external crises.

TPP is a geostrategic deal between the US and Japan to contain China, attempting to shape an Asia-Pacific economic zone that might at least balance the second-largest economy on the planet.

Everything you need to know about the incessantly ballyhooed Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) deal comes directly from the lion's mouth.

Here's US President Barack Obama: "When more than 95 percent of our potential customers live outside our borders, we can't let countries like China write the rules of the global economy. We should write those rules, opening new markets to American products."

So Exceptionalistan must imperatively rule the trade — and war — waves if this ever shapes up as America's "Pacific Century". "Ruling", in this case, applies to a selected Pacific melting pot: the US and Japan, plus Australia, New Zealand, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam.

Predictably, the usual corporate media suspects have been ecstatic over what's supposedly "the largest free trade agreement in history."

Reality spells otherwise. For starters, TPP — as Obama himself bragged — is a sort of Pacific NATO on trade; the economic/commercial arm of the "pivoting" to Asia, part of the overall containment of China strategy. Needless to add, Beijing is not part of TPP.

No one really knows anything about key TPP arcane provisions because TPP is an ironclad secret, negotiated behind ironclad rooms similar to those "green rooms" in WTO negotiations. If you, as a negotiator, had read the drafts and talked about them, you'd end up in jail. The Obama administration has been particular NSA-style paranoid on all things TPP.

Why the secrecy? Simple; because global trade is actually a key segment of global war. The negative impact of allegedly "free" trade on countless helpless communities across the Global South equals war, as detailed in the crucial book Trade Is War: The West's War on the World.

While people were in a daze of reverie following the lunar eclipse and the Pope's U.S. visit, a very important yet overlooked announcement was made by the Department of Justice.

"Launch of Strong Cities Network to Strengthen Community Resilience Against Violent Extremism" rang the bell to usher in a global-local initiative to ferret out extremism at the local level - yes, in the United States. Symbolically, it could also signal a turning point when it comes to local authorities and their treatment of the residents at large. Indeed, it isa global enmeshment that most Americans are either a) in the total dark about, or b) going hysterical over, if they've heard about it.

Honestly, either of those reactions is understandable when you start digging into the announcements and its sponsors only to find the typical convoluted, global-psycho-babble that signals to the astute that they are about to lose their rights and be perceived as domestic terrorists. But can anyone really say for sure? Of course not. Not when the message is written in Newspeak gibberish.

The global media are intentionally distorting the objectives of the Russian air operation in Syria, said Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"From the very beginning of the military part of the Russia's counter-terror operation in Syria, which was initiated after the official request of the government of that country, international media launched a powerful anti-Russian campaign,"Zakharova said.

The main accusations voiced by the global media against Russia are of the alleged illegality, irrationality and ambiguity of its actions in Syria.

"We face various accusations, namely securing primarily Russian interests in the region, allegedly disguised with fighting Islamic State and other terror groups," Zakharova said.

Almost immediately Russia was slammed for alleged civilian victims and children's deaths, the Foreign Ministry's spokesperson said.

"The claims are illustrated with photos and videos that actually either are outdated or have no relation to the subject or the region," she pointed out.

Maria Zakharova recalled Moscow's reaction to the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the US, pointing out that Russia was one of the first countries that offered Washington help.

In an exclusive Sputnik interview, a top MSF representative said he doubted the US-initiated investigation of last week's Kunduz hospital bombing would be independent enough.

"We want a fully independent investigation and the three we've heard of so far don't seem to us independent enough, so we're looking into other possibilities, but it takes some time before we can come with a clear proposition," president of MSF's operational directorate in Brussels Meinie Nicolai told Sputnik in an exclusive interview.

The incident with the Russian jet, which accidentally violated Turkey's airspace, has been used to include NATO in the media war against Moscow's anti-terror op in Syria, said Aleksandr Grushko, Russia's envoy to the Western military alliance.

"The impression is that the incident in Turkish airspace was used in order to include NATO as an organization into the information campaign unleashed in the West, which perverts and distorts the purposes of the operation conducted by the Russian air forces in Syria,"Grushko said.

According to Grushko, NATO has ignored clarifications from Russia about the plane incident. All attempts to explain the reasons behind the incident fell on deaf ears, however, with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg describing the situation as "unacceptable violations of Turkish airspace."

"Similar incidents are clarified through bilateral or military channels," Grushko said. "This is common practice."
Comment: The myopic, nitpicky, and manipulative statements of tool-for-Empire Jens Stoltenberg indicate yet again just how desperate and ridiculous the US is and how willing they are to grasp at literally anything to vilify Russia. Expect it to get even worse (if such a thing is possible).

According to the press officer of the special operations headquarters, the Ukrainian military began withdrawing weapons with a caliber of less than 100mm in the country's eastern regions.

The Ukrainian military on Monday began withdrawing weapons with a caliber of less than 100mm in the country's eastern regions, the press officer of the special operations headquarters said.

"Yes, starting from today, the practical phase of the first stage of withdrawing equipment and weapons of less than 100mm from the line of contact has begun," Anatoliy Stelmakh said on Ukraine's 112-Ukraina television channel.

He said that the weapons would be pulled back at a distance of no less than 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) and would take 41 days for a full withdrawal.

On Tuesday, an agreement on the withdrawal of weapons of less than 100mm caliber from the line of contact in the country's eastern regions was initialed in Minsk. Kiev, as well as Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics signed the agreement the following day.

The agreement on the pullback of this caliber of weapons, which the security subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group on Ukrainian reconciliation drew up in August, remained a controversial topic between the warring sides until recent weeks.

The Trilateral Contact Group on the settlement of the crisis in Ukraine, which comprises representatives from Ukraine, Russia and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), was set up under the Minsk ceasefire agreement in 2014 in a bid to promote direct dialogue between the parties to the Ukrainian conflict.
Comment: Without the full support of their US masters and with an ever-shrinking army, it's in the best interest of the puppets in Kiev to cooperate with the Russians and the people of Eastern Ukraine. Looks like Russian involvement in the Syrian conflict is having some positive effects well beyond the Syrian border.

Some 16,000 Ukrainian soldiers have defected from the zone of military operations in conflict-riven eastern Donbas - many carrying weapons, the country's chief military prosecutor said on Monday.

"We have investigated 16,000 criminal cases regarding defectors who have left the zone of military operations, and a significant part of them defected with weapons," Anatoly Matios told reporters.

The Interior Ministry has launched a search for all those missing, but no more than 1,000 had been located over the past year, he said.

Deputy head of Ukraine's armed forces mobilization department Colonel Alexander Pravdivets has reported that during a sixth wave of call-up almost 27,000 conscripts, around 50% of the total, had dodged army service.

Living conditions are terrible, the command structure incompetent, and the ranks are filled by conscripts unlucky enough to not get out of Ukraine ahead of the sweep. On Tuesday, the Russian Foreign Ministry held an extraordinary briefing to discuss the international coverage of Russia's military operation in Syria.

Comment: Strange how Russia's airstrikes, which are crippling ISIS in Syria, are perceived as 'strengthening terrorism' but America dropping supplies to ISIS is considered an effective anti-terrorism strategy. Three Palestinian teenagers, including a 13-year-old Palestinian boy, have been killed in West Bank clashes with Israeli soldiers in the past 24 hours. More than 450 Palestinians have also been injured in the violence.

Abdel-Rahman Abeidallah, 13, died of a gunshot wound to the heart on Monday, a source at Bethlehem Hospital told Reuters. The boy lived in the local al-Aidah refugee camp and had taken part in clashes with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The Israeli military said it was looking into the incident.

According to a Monday report by the Red Crescent, two Palestinian teens, aged 13 and 18, were killed in Bethlehem and Tulkarem, and 456 Palestinians have been wounded over the past day.

The 18-year-old alleged stone-thrower was reportedly killed in Tulkarem earlier in the day. The IDF claimed that only a single shot had been fired in the area and it was "unclear" if the teen had been struck by an Israeli bullet.

Putin's intervention in Syria disrupts Washington's regional imperial agenda - neocons infesting Obama's administration on the back foot, flummoxed on what to do next.

Their reaction awaits. Expect endless propaganda war, as well as increased support for ISIS and other takfiri terrorists.

London's Guardian got it backwards suggesting Moscow's intervention was "more provocative than decisive" - the same notion proliferated by other media in lockstep with the US-NATO coalition led by the US, Britain, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Israel.

The Guardian said "(r)egional powers have quietly, but effectively, channelled funds, weapons and other support to rebel groups making the biggest inroads against the forces from Damascus" - allied with Washington's plan to weaken and isolate Iran.

Witnesses said over the weekend that a man died after an East Cleveland officer hit him with a police cruiser and then refused to perform CPR.

According to officials, the officer was responding to an emergency call shortly before 10 p.m. on Saturday when he hit a 21-year-old man who was trying to cross the street. The man was taken to University Hospitals, where he later died.

A preliminary investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol found that the officer had his emergency lights on at the time of the accident, but WEWS reporter Kristin Volk spoke to witnesses who disputed that claim.

"Witnesses and others at the scene tell me the officer who hit the man checked out his car instead of doing CPR," Volk explained

"The officer, when the officer got out of the car, the officer went around the man, the young man on the ground, and checked his windshield out," the witness told Volk. "Then he put his hands on his hips. And everybody was like, 'What the f*ck are you doing? The guy you hit is on the ground. He's dying. He's dying.'"

Eventually a second officer arrived on the scene and performed CPR, but he was unable to save the victim.

The Highway Patrol, which is handling the investigation, had not released the name of the officer or victim, but officials said that the victim's family had been notified.

Elderly and disabled people in the care system are going without regular food and drink due to government budget cuts, a report has found. A study by the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) published on Tuesday discovered that care systems throughout the UK are failing to provide services for all those in need. Tens of thousands of adults are being denied long-term care and are instead receiving short-term or temporary care, while over 1 million adults have been turned away.

Charities have blamed the Conservative government's budget cuts and called on Chancellor George Osborne to ensure elderly and disabled people receive adequate social care. The report, "Community Care Statistics, Social Services Activity, England," found that of the 1.8 million requests for adult social care in the last financial year, only 36 percent resulted in people receiving care of any form.

Some 28 percent of people were turned down altogether while 31 percent were sent elsewhere, meaning 1.1 million vulnerable adults were turned away. Only 8 percent of people who applied for support were provided with long-term care either at home or in a residential setting. A survey published alongside the report found that 6 percent of elderly and disabled people receiving care - the equivalent of just over 40,000 people - did not always get adequate or timely food and drink. One percent of the 70,000 people surveyed said that in addition to not receiving enough food or drink, they also felt their health was at risk.

"Half of Geel is crazy, and the rest is half crazy," runs a joke often told about the Belgian city of Geel.

But wandering around its plazas and cafes, visitors may notice that some of the residents seem slightly "eccentric", and with good reason.

A university in Russia's Urals region has published 3,000 copies of a book detailing the deceits used by Islamic State and describing the dangers that await the possible recruits to the terrorist group. The work targets young people, Muslim clerics and civil servants in Russia.

"Without any exaggeration, the whole world is now fighting with the Islamic State. Their principles are inhumane and destructive for the very foundations of humanity. As we study Islam and Orthodox Chistianity on the Theology Department of our university we can expertly explain the processes that are now taking place in the world," the chancellor of the Urals State Mining University said in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda daily.

"The Russian President is now allocating a lot of his attention to the explanations over the issue. Our country is setting an example on how to correctly oppose extremists. These are the reasons behind our 'ISIS is not Islam' book," the rector said.

He also explained that the professors started to pay special attention to anti-ISIS propaganda after one of the university's students, 19-year old Varvara Karaulova left Russia for Turkey this summer in the hope of marrying an ISIS fighter she had met online. The girl was detained by Turkish law enforcement officers and returned to Russia, but the case gained a lot of attention in the media.

The Peruvian government has declared a 30-day state of emergency following four deaths at a protest of the Chinese-owned Las Bambas mine project. The emergency status includes a startling suspension of civil liberties on Peruvians.

Latin Post reports:
After four people were killed amid anti-mining protests, Peruvian President Ollanta Humala declared a 30-day state of emergency in the Apurímac region on Tuesday [Sept 29].

Suspending civil liberties and authorizing military patrols, the government announced that extra troops would be sent to Apurímac "to restore internal peace."

The four protesters were shot dead during confrontations with the police. Aside from the deaths, 14 protesters were injured in demonstrations against a $7.4 billion copper mine project.

Peng!, a tactical media and activist group, used a remote-controlled plane to drop flyers over a U.S. military base in Germany that serves as the NSA's European hub of signals intelligence known as the Dagger Complex. The flyers were designed by Intelexit, the specific campaign Peng! launched to encourage security agency employees to quit their jobs. But it would probably do us well to remember that most many of the individuals who sign on to these jobs do so precisely because they fit in with the pathological culture of control, and lack the conscience to stand up to it to begin with.

Stockton, California Mayor Anthony R. Silva attended a recent mayor's conference in China, but his return trip took a bit longer than usual. At the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) this week, agents with the Department of Homeland Security detained Silva and confiscated his personal cell phone among other electronics. According to comments from the mayor, that may not even be the most alarming part.

"Unfortunately, they were not willing or able to produce a search warrant or any court documents suggesting they had a legal right to take my property," Silva told SFGate. "In addition, they were persistent about requiring my passwords for all devices."

The mayor's attorney, Mark Reichel, told SFGate that Silva was not allowed to leave the airport without forfeiting his passwords. Reichel was not present for Silva's interaction with the DHS agents, either. The mayor was told he had "no right for a lawyer to be present" and that being a US citizen did not "entitle me to rights that I probably thought," according to the paper.

A police officer in Providence, Rhode Island, received a coffee at Dunkin' Donuts with the message, "#blacklivesmatter" written on the cup, referring to the national movement highlighting police brutality towards people of color

An employee at Dunkin' Donuts on Atwells Avenue in Providence "was immediately rude, and didn't appear to want to serve him in Uniform," according to Providence police officer William O'Donnell, who wrote of the incident involving a fellow officer in a private Facebook post.

The incident occured on Friday. The local police union ‒ Providence Police Patrolman and Providence Fraternal Order of Police ‒ held an emergency meeting on Sunday, accordingto Boston.com, and released a statement "condemning the employee and the Black Lives Matter movement."

The statement went on: "Providence FOP #3 finds this action to be unacceptable and discouraging... The negativity displayed by the #Blacklivesmatter organization towards Police across this nation is creating a hostile environment that is not resolving any problems or issues, but making it worse for our communities."
Comment: This may not have been the most strategic action by a person concerned with police brutality, but it isn't hard to understand their motive:
