Bitcoin prices hit a more than 20-month high this weekend as the digital currency broke the $500 barrier to reap big gains. Back-to-back breakout sessions on Friday and Saturday contributed to the development, which marks the end of one of the notoriously volatile digital currency's most stable periods.
