U.S. weighs expanded military presence in the Philippines


The Obama administration is considering significantly expanding the U.S. military presence in the Philippines, two decades after the island nation evicted American forces from their biggest base in the Pacific. Such an expansion would be the latest in a series of strategic moves aimed at countering China.
