Ukraine Suspends Extradition Of Chechen Wanted For Plotting Putin's Assassination
Ukraine's prosecutor-general has suspended the extradition proceedings to Russia of one of two men suspected of plotting to assassinate Vladimir Putin on orders from self-styled Caucasus Emirate head Doku Umarov. More Predictably, Chechen Republic head Ramzan Kadyrov has used the August 19 suicide bomb attack in Ingushetia’s Malgobek Raion as ammunition in his ongoing private feud with his Ingushetian counterpart, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov. More Oktay Mamedov, who served as personal physician to Azerbaijani President Abulfaz Elchibey, has categorically rejected the possibility that the overthrown head of state's death may have been caused by poison. More The leader of Azerbaijan's small Muasir (Modern) Musavat party, Khafiz Gadjiyev, has accused Azerbaijan Popular Front Party (AHCP) Chairman Ali Kerimli of administering poison to former Azerbaijani President Abulfaz Elchibey prior to the latter's death from prostate cancer 12 years ago. More Ramzan Kadyrov has become the first North Caucasus republic head to comment publicly on Krasnodar Krai Governor Aleksandr Tkachev's controversial pronouncements regarding unchecked migration and ethnic tensions on his turf and the planned deployment of Cossack police units to help counter the perceived threat to public order posed by illegal immigrants from elsewhere in the North Caucasus.
