Attacks against journalists violate the rights to freedom of expression and information for all people
At a side event organised by ARTICLE 19 during the 27th Session of the UN Human Rights Council, I had the opportunity to talk about the issue of impunity for media killings in my country.  Since democracy was restored to the Philipines in 1986, there have been 145 journalists killed in the country because of their work.  Of those 145, there have been only 14 convictions, with none bringing the actual masterminds to justice. Read more >
