Mailman has won Coinbase's second hackathon, which gave away $70,000 worth of bitcoin in prizes. The email paywall system, which rewards consumers in bitcoin and filters spam using the blockchain, received a $10,000 prize in bitcoin and a place in Boost VC's bitcoin accelerator class, reportedly worth $50,000.

Brazilian Congressman Manoel Junior has proposed a public hearing to discuss the potential regulation of bitcoin to be held later this year. The hearing, if granted, would involve representatives from Brazil's central bank, anti-fraud agency and tax body, as well as local entrepreneurs.
