A company in the San Francisco area is delivering bitcoin-purchased medicinal cannabis to customers via drone. Trees, a California-based service which claims to sell the "highest quality" medicinal cannabis to people holding a medical recommendation, accepts bitcoin alongside other traditional payments methods.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Police is reportedly pursuing fraud charges against Mt Gox CEO Mark Karpeles. Japanese news service Nikkei reported on 31st July that Karpeles is being investigated for using fake exchange accounts and fictitious bitcoin balances to meet customer orders.
