1. Islamist Cleric: Meet an Israeli? Kill Him
by Gil Ronen
A senior cleric in the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood has declared that ordinary Egyptians are obligated to kill 'Zionists' whom they encounter. According to Arutz Sheva Arab affairs expert Dalit Halevy, the pronouncement is part of a general wave of incitement that directly endangers Israelis who are currently in Egypt.
This follows Muslim Brotherhood calls to end the peace treaty with Egypt and threats to kill Israel's ambassador if he does not leave the country. Although there are many benefits for Egypt if it continues its relations with Israel, not the least of which is continued American aid, that is not always what counts in the MIddle East where hatred is often stronger than logic.
Dr. Salah Sultan, a lecturer on Islamic law in Cairo University and head of the Al Quds Committee in the World Federation of Islamic Scholars, declared Friday that an Egyptian citizen who encounters a "Zionist" should kill him. This should be done because Israel "killed" the Camp David Accord, he explained. Sultan said that Israel provokes Egypt by pointing its jet fighters at Egyptian soldiers.
Sultan spoke at a protest outside Israel's Cairo embassy, before about 200 members of the Freedom and Justice Party (a front for the Islamic Brotherhood), the Islamic Brotherhood movement, and other extreme groups.
In an April interview Sultan said that "the liberation of Palestine will come from Tahrir Square."
When the Crusaders invaded Jerusalem, the liberation began from Egypt, he said. Similarly, when Mongols reached Syria in the 13th century CE, Egyptians were the ones who organized and blocked them. "The next campaign [against Israel] will be launched from Egypt," he said.

2. Qaddafi’s Son Seen in Tripoli
by Elad Benari
Despite earlier reports of his arrest, Saif al-Islam Qaddafi, son of Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi, arrived late on Monday at the Tripoli hotel where foreign reporters are staying, Reuters is reporting.
According to the report, Qaddafi’s son spoke to foreign journalists at the hotel. Television footage showed him pumping his fists in the air, smiling, waving and shaking hands with supporters outside the hotel.
He reportedly told journalists that Libya was still in government hands and that his father was safe.
“I am here to disperse the rumors,” the young Qaddafi was quoted by Reuters as saying. “This is a war of technology and electronics to cause chaos and terror in Libya. They also brought in armed gangs by sea and by road.”
He also said that Tripoli was under government control and that he did not care about an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court in The Hague seeking him and his father for crimes against humanity.
Saif al Islam was asked if his father was safe and well in Tripoli, to which he responded, “Of course.”
Earlier on Monday it was reported that Tripoli had fallen to the Libyan rebel fighters and that a new transitional government was in the process of being installed.
It was also reported that another of Qaddafi’s sons, Mohammed, has managed to escape house arrest with the assistance of loyalist forces.
Other reports said Qaddafi’s tanks shelled parts of central Tripoli after rebels swept into the heart of the city.
According to the reports, tanks emerged from Qaddafi’s stronghold in the center of the Libyan capital and were firing shells.

3. Debate on Beck Rages – ‘A Unique Gentile Who Loves Israel’
by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu
Glenn Beck is a “unique Gentile” who loves Israel and Jews, a leading nationalist says in response to charges that his supporters are missionaries.
“This hysterical rant is embarrassing and potentially damaging to Israel. True friends for Israel is not common in our history or in current times,” said David Ha’Ivri, head of the Shomron (Samaria) Liaison Office after former Jerusalem councilwoman Mina Fenton’s criticism of Beck appeared in Arutz Sheva.
Beck is holding a massive “Restoring Courage” rally at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Davidson Visitors Center, adjacent to the Western Wall. An overflow rally will be held simultaneously at Safra Square, home to Jerusalem’s city hall and several hundred feet from the popular Ben Yehuda pedestrian mall in downtown Jerusalem.
Fenton charged, “Holding a Christian event near the southern wall will help in strengthening the Christian ‘Returning to Zion’ project that any Christian organization that respects itself initiates. They actually say that this area belongs to them.”
Ha’Ivri, who said he will attend the rally, was incensed at Fenton's remarks.
“This hysterical rant is embarrassing and potentially damaging to Israel,” he said. “True friends for Israel are not common in our history or in current times. Glenn Beck is one of those unique gentiles who appreciates the Jewish people and our national, historical and theological goals.
“His agenda is out in the open and very clear: he wishes us well as the Jewish people preserving our Torah culture on our Holyland.
“To assault Beck for his unconditional love for Israel would be comical if it weren't so sad.”
Ha’Ivri told Arutz Sheva Tuesday that Beck is not a missionary. “I also have no problems with Christian contributions to Israel so long as there are no strings attached,” Ha’Ivri continued.
The American-born spokesman said any person, whether in religion, business or society in general, may have hidden motives but cannot be judged without evidence.
“I think we, as Jews, have to be a little wise and not make the connection” between being Christian and being a missionary. These people believe whatever they believe. The fact that they are Christians does not mean they are missionaries.”
Ha’Ivri added that righteous Gentiles saved thousands of Jews during the Holocaust. Ha'Ivri admitted that many of them acted to convert Jews, but he pointed out that many did not. They, nor Christians who love Israel, cannot be judged as a group, he concluded.
Former MK Benny Elon (National Union), who created the Israel-Christian caucus in the Knesset to deepen and coordinate the support for Israel evidenced by Christian Evangelists, previously has criticzed Fenton's stand against Chrsitian Zionists.
In an interview with Arutz Sheva two years ago, when Fenton came out against him personally, he said that Israel needs all the friends it can get and since the evangelists are a large voting body in the United States, it is a blessing that they support Judea and Samaria as part of Israel. Having Christian friends doesn't mean accepting their religion, he remarked. When told that the evangelists are supporting Israel so that they can convert the Jews during the "Second Coming" of Jesus, he said with a smile, " We will deal with that when it happens."

4. Self-Proclaimed Jewish Cousin of Qaddafi: He Was a Good Boy
by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu
Israeli Gita Boaron, who says she is a distant cousin Muammar Qaddafi, recalls she played with him as a child and that ”he was a good boy” – before he became dictator.
Previously interviewed by Arutz Sheva, 75-year-old Boaron told Yisrael HaYom, "He was full of joy and mischief. I saw him on a few occasions when we were growing up."
"We played together when he visited our home with his aunt Didi. I saw him before my family moved to Israel. He was seven years old, and I was 13."
No Libyan-born Jews are believed to remain there, but in an interview with Arutz Sheva last January, Boaron said, "Qaddafi’s grandmother is my grandmother’s sister. His grandmother is my father’s grandmother. She was Jewish, became Muslim and married the town sheikh. She had children and he’s her grandson so he’s considered Jewish because his mother was born to a Jewish mother. So it means he’s Jewish.”
She poured ice water on the idea that he might want to move to the Jewish state. "Qaddafi is a miserable person now; I have no sympathy for him. He is evil, and deserves to end his life this way. He has killed many of his own people. He doesn't have a merciful heart like we Jews do," she told Yisrael HaYom.
Although the dictator would be unwelcome, to say the least, by her family, Boaron told Arutz Sheva, "There’s no place like Israel.”
She also related that Qaddafi “always loved the Jews and didn’t do anything bad to them."

5. Hamas Funds Highway 12 Terrorists, IDF Says
by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu
Hamas, which distanced itself from last week’s deadly attacks north of Eilat, in fact funds and supports the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) terrorists who were involved, according to the IDF.
Eight Israelis, including two soldiers, were murdered and more than 30 were wounded in the assault. Hamas claimed it has no connection with the deadly and sophisticated operation.
“The PRC is an independent terrorist organization in Gaza that is supported, subsidized and trained by the Hamas terrorist organization,” IDF spokesmen reported Tuesday morning.
Hamas allows the PRC to act independently and uses it as a means of continuing "resistance" against Israel while being able to claim that it is not involved in the PRC's terrorist activities, the Israeli military explained.
The same PRC group worked with the Army of Islam in the 2006 attack on an IDF checkpoint at a Gaza crossing. Two soldiers were killed and Gilad Shalit was kidnapped. Hamas has claimed it does not where he is being held.
Hamas “directly supports” the PRC, said the IDF, which holds Hamas responsible for attacks from Gaza. Hamas took over control of the region four years ago in a bloody war with the rival Fatah faction, headed by Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.
The PRC was founded in 2000, following the outbreak of the Oslo War, also known as the Second Intifada, during which more than 1,000 Israelis were killed -- mostly civilians.
“The PRC operates in coordination with Iranian authorities and the Hizbullah terrorist organization and has conducted multiple terrorist activities against Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers,” according to the IDF.
The PRC also has taken responsibility for dozens of rockets launched at southern Israel over the past few days.

6. Amnesty International Blind to Jewish Blood?
by Gil Ronen
The statement made by Amnesty International in response to the August 18 terrorist infiltration into Israel "demonstrates Amnesty's continued abuse of universal human rights principles," says Jerusalem-based NGO Monitor. Amnesty's statement, which was accompanied by an image of a wounded Palestinian, erases all details of the murderous attacks targeting Israeli civilians.
"Instead of issuing a strong condemnation of the August 18 Palestinian terror attacks, Amnesty International's statement draws a false equivalence between cold-blooded murder and self-defense that targeted those responsible," says Prof. Gerald Steinberg, president of NGO Monitor.
"From Amnesty's statement, one has no idea that terrorists walked up to a car and brutally murdered the four passengers. Amnesty has immorally treated both the murders and the self-defense response as 'indiscriminate and disproportionate.' In obscuring the facts on the ground, Amnesty again makes a complete mockery of international law and human rights values."
According to eyewitnesses, terrorists who attacked buses, motorists, civilians, and soldiers were dressed in Egyptian military camouflage, in further violation of international humanitarian law. If the terrorists indeed originated from Gaza, they also violated the sovereignty of both Egypt and Israel, a detail that was also ignored by Amnesty.
"Without any evidence, Amnesty officials also imply that Israel is in violation of the prohibition of 'harming civilians,'" Steinberg added. "In fact, the evidence demonstrates that Israel's response was extremely precise - targeting the terrorists responsible for the murderous attacks. In the rush to condemn Israel, Amnesty distorts the events beyond recognition."
As of August 23, Amnesty has not issued an updated statement. In addition, Amnesty has not condemned the more than 100 rockets launched from Gaza into Israel over the weekend, killing one and injuring dozens, or acknowledged that ten of the 13 Palestinians killed were terrorists, and that the other three were with the terrorists at the time of their death.
NGO Monitor added: "We call on all members of Amnesty with a moral conscience, including the Israeli branch, to resign immediately in protest."

7. Baba Elazar’s Murderer Hid Knife with his Tefillin
by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu
New details in the murder indictment in the shocking murder of Rabbi Elazar Abuhatzeira (Baba Elazar) three weeks ago reveal another shock – the killer his the murder weapon with his tefillin [phylacteries], which contain parchments with sections of the Torah and are worn by Jews when praying on weekday mornings.
The indictment, served against Asher Dahan in a Be’er Sheva court, contained a further shock – the murder suspect had taken the 24.5-centimeter (14-inch) commando knife from the room of the rabbi’s son before entering the rabbi’s study.
Dahan allegedly then took the knife out of his tefillin bag and placed it in his pants pocket, under his jacket, so he could pull it out easily and quickly.
The murder suspect, who has admitted stabbing the revered rabbi to death, previously told police that he was not happy with the rabbi’s advice concerning marital problems.
The day of the murder, Dahan checked to make sure that Rabbi Abuhatzeira was receiving visitors that day. Dahan arrived at night and stood in line, taking the knife sometime between entering the rabbi’s house and reaching his study after everyone else had left.
The indictment stated that Dahan distracted the attention of Rabbi Abuhatzeira by handing him a pre-written note. Dahan murmured, “In the name of HaShem (the Creator), we will act and succeed,” a maxim used when attempting something difficult.
As Rabbi Abuhatzeira read the note, Dahan stabbed him with fatal blows to his chest.

8. ‘Zionist Envoy, Leave Egypt or Die,” Demonstrators Demand
by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu
The Muslim Brotherhood has threatend to kill Israel's ambassador to Cairo if he does not leave the country. The radical Muslim group has been leading daily protests at the Israeli embassy in Cairo, demanding the expulsion of the envoy and a break in relations between Egypt and Israel.
Hundreds of demonstrators surrounded the embassy Monday as armored military and police officers prevented them from repeating Saturday night’s incident when rioters broke down the gate. One firebomb smashed through a front window of the embassy’s office.
One anti-Zionist, now referred to as ”Spiderman,” became an instant hero throughout Egypt by scaling the multi-story wall and replacing the Israeli flag with one of Egypt. The Israeli flag was burned.
“Revolution,” cried out Muslim Brotherhood activists. “Revolution is stronger than the Zionist attackers. The entire Egyptian people are Hamas.”
One hostile placard threatened that the ambassador must “get out [of Egypt] or die here.”
The demonstrators also proclaimed, “Oh Zionist traitor, blood and fire are between you and us.“ They charged that “Zionists mock us with calls for peace, and their principles offend Muslim.”
The refusal to use the word “Israel” is similar to the policy of Iran, Hamas and other Muslim terrorist organizations.
