Brazil: Courts of Justice lack transparency

ARTICLE 19 has launched "Paths of Transparency", a report which demonstrates that, four years after the Access to Information Law entered into force, courts throughout Brazil are not meeting minimum standards of transparency. Much remains to be done.

Egypt: Mohamed Nagi and 151 other protesters must be released with convictions quashed

ARTICLE 19 calls for the convictions against Mohamed Nagi and other peaceful protesters to be overturned, and for those sentenced to imprisonment to be immediately released. We also repeat our previous call for Egypt to repeal the Protest Law, and replace it with legislation that respects international human rights standards. Read more>
