UN Gaza Flotilla Report Gravely Flawed September 16

Michael Ratner: Palmer report wrongly states Israel's Gaza blockade is legal
In response to the report which states that the blockade was imposed as a measure of Israeli national security, Ratner argues that the blockade is “about collective punishment of the people of Gaza”. Ratner points out that “UN bodies have consistently said that the blockade is illegal”. In spite of this the Palmer report justifies the blockade.

Philip Shenon: Investigation shows FBI Headquarters had linked Moussaoui to Al Qaeda but didn't share info that would have allowed computer search
Shenon calls the FBI’s decision to ignore warnings about Zacarias Moussaoui from the Minneapolis field office “one more crazily missed dot in the summer of 2001”.

Timothy A. Wise: US pushing Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement without key reforms
In some key areas such as patent extension and food security, the Obama administration’s Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement represents “a real step backwards on the part of the Obama administration from previous attempts to improve on the NAFTA model”. This comes in spite of Obama’s 2008 critiques of NAFTA.

Post 9/11 Wars And Violations Of Civil Liberties Continue September 14
Michael Ratner: Obama administration has reversed very little of Bush policy
Domestic surveillance is “the same if not worse” under Obama, says Michael Ratner. Wars abroad, lack of privacy –the events of 9/11 justified these actions and to some extent they continue to do so. Ten years on, surveillance tactics are being deployed against people resisting cutbacks and austerity legislation.
Evidence That Al-Qaeda Killed Hariri September 13
Gareth Porter: UN inquiry ignored confessions and other facts in order to pin assassination on Hezbollah
In spite of evidence pointing to al-Qaeda’s is responsibility for Hariri’s death, the UN refuses to address the evidence. Porter cites a “a general orientation on the part of Western governments” to name Hezbollah “the bad guys” and remarks that an investigation into the UN’s motives is a “story still to be written”.
Suppressing Investigation About The Role Of Saudi Arabia In 9/11 September 12
Saudi link to 9/11 hijackers found in Sarasota but not revealed by FBI
Investigative Journalists Summers and Swan recount that these connections have been kept from the public. Evidence of phone calls between Saudis and hijackers based in Florida before 9/11 is further evidence connecting Saudi Arabia and the 9/11 attacks. This evidence was largely kept from the Congressional joint committee investigating 9/11.

28 pages of the 9/11 report were blacked out - redacted. What was in those pages? Why were they redacted? And who ordered that they be blacked out? Summers and Swan suggest what was in those omitted parts of the report and why it was suppressed.
9/11 Not An "Intelligence Failure" September 11
Ray McGovern and Jason Leopold: The intelligence agencies had the information; the question is why didn't they use it?
McGovern wonders why information about targets and suspects was kept quiet. He also wonders why the mainstream media has not picked up on this story. After all, as he summarizes, what has come to light in Clarke’s willingness to speak is “a principal advisor to President Bush accusing the head of CIA of dereliction of duty at the very least, and saying that had he done his job, 9/11 might have been prevented”.
