Armenia 'Still Ready' To Withdraw Snipers
Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanian says the armed forces of Armenia and the breakaway Azerbaijani region of Nagorno-Karabakh remain prepared to withdraw snipers from their frontline positions in order to bolster the cease-fire regime in the Karabakh conflict zone. More A subsidiary of Russia's state-controlled national electricity company has confirmed plans to end its eight-year management of Armenia's Metsamor nuclear power station. More Azerbaijani writer and journalist Rafiq Tagi, who died four days after being stabbed in a late-night attack in Baku, has been laid to rest. More With less than a week to go before the South Ossetian election run off to find a successor to outgoing de facto President Eduard Kokoity, Russian leader Dmitry Medvedev met on November 21 in Vladikavkaz with Anatoly Bibilov, the Kremlin's preferred candidate. Nonetheless, it is questionable whether Medvedev's expression of support will be enough to secure a Bibilov victory over his rival, opposition candidate Alla Dzhioyeva. More Rafiq Tagi, a critic of the Azerbaijani government, Iran, and political Islam, has died in the hospital where he was being treated after being knifed.
