1. Another 'Fogel Copycat' Attack Foiled
by Gil Ronen
The latest terror trend among Arabs in Samaria may be an effort to copy the horrific slaughter in Itamar a year ago, in which five members of a single family were murdered with a knife.
Police from the Samaria Region arrested an Arab woman near the perimeter fence of the city of Emanuel Tuesday morning. She was carrying a large knife.
The woman, 32, was identified by a military force near the village of Imtin, next to Emanuel, located in central Samaria and near the city of Ariel and the communities of Karnei and Ginot Shomron. A police force arrived on the scene and began to question her. She said that she intended to carry out a stabbing attack in Emanuel.
Just a day earlier, on Monday, two knife-wielding terrorists who tried to infiltrate the Samaria community of Elon Moreh Monday morning were caught.
At about 8:45 a.m., the outlook position at Elon Moreh identified two Arabs approaching the fence surrounding the community.
The Elon Moreh Security Coordinator arrived at the scene and the Arabs ran away to the nearby village of Azmut. The security coordinator entered the village with a battalion-sized IDF force. The two terrorists were caught. An initial inquiry showed that they are residents of the Balata "refugee camp" and that they were armed with knives.
The PA regularly incites its population to murder Israelis, and did so well before the slaughter at Itamar. Recently, the mother of one of the murderers of the Fogels appeared on a PA TV program and sent love to her son.

2. Police Sting Operations Nab Samaria Car Thieves
by Gil Ronen
Following a series of carjackings in Samaria, police have begun successfully using pre-planned ambush and sting operations to catch thieves red handed.
On Monday evening, two Arab suspects were caught in one such operation after they tried to steal a truck at Naalin junction, north of Modiin. The thieves are residents of the village of Kibya and in their 30s.
The truck was full of Arab-owned merchandise worth tens of thousands of shekels.
When the thieves identified the policemen, they attempted to escape in their car, which hit the police car. The policemen fired at the thieves' car's tires and succeeded in stopping it and arresting the suspects.
Police say the planned operation Monday is one of a series of operations being carried out in the wake of the recent carjacking wave. Several suspects have already been arrested and charged, police added.
Last week, a 33-year-old resident of Kalkilya was arrested on suspicion of taking part in the carjackings, which often target women.
Another resident of Kalkilya was arrested in the course of a car theft at Tzufim junction, in a sting operation involving a female detective who drove a car on her own. The suspect was found to be carrying a knife and was taken away to interrogation. Police said that additional arrests can be expected.

3. Congress Ahead of Obama for Attacking Iran
by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu
Congress again is ahead of President Barack Obama on how to deal with the Irnaian nuclear threat. Republican Sen. Mitchell McConnell wants a resolution backing a military strike, and GOP Rep. Turner said, "There is broad Congressional support for Israel to defend itself against the Iranian threat."
Last year, Congress pressured the president to slap harsher sanctions on Iran in an effort to convince it to allow United Nations supervision of its nuclear program, and the American legislature now is taking the lead in backing a military strike on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear facilities.
Sen. McConnell, speaking at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference, labeled Iran a "state sponsor of terrorism" and suggested a resolution supporting a military strike if necessary. The motion would state, “If Iran at any time begins to enrich uranium at weapons-grade levels, or decides to go ahead with a nuclear weapons program, then the United States will use military force to end that program."
Rep. Turner, who shocked the Democrats last year with an upset victory in a strong Jewish district, told a press conference that the “world is currently at war” and explained, “If in the past we had to fight Communism, today the threat is from Islamic fanaticism. This threat may continue for a long time and we must prepare to deal with it.”
Turner is the first Republican to represent his New York’s 9th district since 1920 and serves on the House Committee on Homeland Security, the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, and the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs.
President Obama said the military option is “on the table” if sanctions don’t work, but Sen. McConnell stated Monday, "What is needed when it comes to Iran is a clear declaratory policy that would declare what we would do, and why. In intending to offer 'all options,' it has inadvertently blurred the most important one and that is a determined military operation to end Iran's nuclear program."

4. Oil, U.S. Elections, May Put Brakes on an Iranian Strike
by Arutz 7 Staff
U.S. President Barack Hussein Obama met with Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Monday, reaffirming America's commitment to Israel's defense. But do the upcoming U.S. elections and the price of gas to fill up a tank have any bearing on Obama's moving into action on Iran and it's nuclear aspirations?
Arutz 7's Tamar Yonah discussed these issues with Likud Political analyst, Mordechai Taub on her Sunday afternoon talk show on Israel National Radio. Taub tells Yonah that though Obama may prefer to hold off on any entanglement with Iran until after the U.S. elections, that Netanyahu has the courage and 'grit' to attack Iran if he feels time is running out for Israel.
What could happen the day after an attack on Iran? Taub briefly discusses this as well as he describes what the reaction of the world could be if Israel opened up an attack on the Islamic state.

5. El Al to Move Flights to IDF Base If Iran Attacks: Report
by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu
Israel’s national air carrier El Al will move its flights to military bases in the event of a war with Iran, according to the Hebrew-language Maariv newspaper.
Company executives reportedly met in an urgent discussion to deal with wartime scenarios as the Israeli government repeatedly warns that “time is running out” for a military attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
An El Al spokesman claimed that the report is “baseless” but did not say what the airline would do in case of war. He added that if a discussion of the subject had indeed been held, the company would not have commented on it.
Ben Gurion International Airport is located on the edge of the metropolitan Tel Aviv area, which would be a likely target by Iran in the event of war.
If Iranian missiles were to rain down on the airport, El Al would move its flights to the Air Force base at Nevatim, near Be’er Sheva, the newspaper stated. The base’s runways can accommodate international jets, and the government has already proposed converting the military facility into a second civilian international air base to relieve the crowded Ben Gurion airport.
The base already has instrument landing systems for guiding aircraft, and all El Al would need to do is to set up computerized and telecom systems.

6. New Rules for More 'Kippas' at ‘Voice of Israel’
by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu
Only two out of 31 members of the council overseeing Israel’s public broadcasting wear a kippa. The bias against nationalists, reflected on Israel’s radio and television news shows, may change as a result of a change suggested by National Union chairman and Knesset Member Yaakov (Ketzaleh) Katz.
The Israel Broadcasting Authority, which operates the popular Voice of Israel radio and Channel One television, has a legal mandate to represent “all sectors” of the public” but only “as much as possible.”
The Knesset Economic Affairs Committee, chaired Likud MK Carmel Shama HaKohen, has agreed to change the law so that it will require the supervising council to present sectors according to their relative size, as shown by Central Bureau of Statistics figures.
MK Katz said that the current phrasing has resulted in a “distortion” that does not reflect the consensus in Israel, leaving many sectors feeling isolated.
A Justice Ministry lawyer objected to MK Katz’s suggested change and told the Knesset committee that it is not practical for the broadcasting authority’s supervisory council to have a specific number of members for each sector.
MK Katz replied, “How would you feel if there were 29 hareidi religious members, all of them with peyot [sidelocks] and only two secular representatives? Would you still say that?”
Voice of Israel government radio has often been criticized by nationalist media watchdogs for one-sided commentary and “soft-glove” interviews with Opposition leaders while giving rough treatment to government ministers.
Last year, an anchor for privately-operated Channel 2, was publicly criticized for editorializing the speech Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu made, to thunderous applause and standing ovations, in Congress.
Voice of Israel government radio also was at the head of media campaigns in favor of the expulsion of Jews and the destruction of their communities in Gush Katif in 2005. It also had a clear agenda in promoting freeing more than 1,000 terrorists and security prisoners in exchange for kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit. Several of those freed already have been re-arrested for terrorism.

7. Knesset Reprimands Tibi for Martyr's Day Speech
by Gavriel Queenann
The Knesset Ethics Committee issued a "severe reprimand" to MK Ahmed Tibi following a speech he recently published in "Martyr Day" that glorified terrorism against Israelis.
The reprimand came after hearings held by the Ethics Committee over complaint filed by the Legal Forum for the Land of Israel against Tibi.
Tibi, who served as a personal advisor to PLO arch-terrorist Yassir Arafat before running for Knesset, claimed during the hearing that the "understanding" of the word "martyr" alleged in the complaint was incorrect. He also claimed that his speech - this year - was revised.
The committee, however, concluded "the meaning of MK Tibi's words, especially in his first speech, "followed its usual manner." It also said Tibi's speech was clearly sympathetic to "acts of terror and violence against Israel, its soldiers, and its citizens."
"In this case, an MK [Tibi] expressed support for the killing of citizens of the state in terrorist attacks," the committee said. "As is known, the Ethics Committee is careful to maintain the freedom of expression of Knesset members, even when that expression is extreme."
"However, the committee finds it necessary to censure political expressions that incite and support violence. It is clear that MK Tibi's expression was of this sort and that the use of the word martyr – especially in light of his previous speech – was intended as such," it added.
"Accordingly, given the fact that there is no doubt in the committee's mind that the publication of MK Tibi's remarks caused serious damage to the dignity of the Knesset, and the public's confidence in the Knesset, the Committee exercises its authority under section 13 d (d) (3 a) governing representative immunity, impose on MK Ahmed Tibi, a severe reprimand," it concluded.
Deputy Knesset Speaker MK Danny Danon (Likud) said the Ethics Committee decision to censure Tibi was insufficient.
"Here, a Knesset member has glorified murderers and terrorists, and incites terrorists against Israel and its citizens," Danon said. "Tibi must be removed from the Knesset and put on trial for incitement to terrorism. He should be sitting behind bars."
"Merely reprimanding him is badge of shame to the Knesset and gives legitimacy to all those who hate Israel, and empowers them to continue acting against Israelis and Israel," Danon added.
The Legal Forum for the Land of Israel welcomed the committee's decision. Attorney Hila Cohen, counsel for the forum, said a severe reprimand was "appropriate," but added that in the grand scheme of things it was "too light for something so serious."
"Tibi's participation in a criminal meeting indicates relentless subversion seeking death and the destruction of Israel," she added, referring to Tibi's history of open support and contact with terror leaders from Hamas and other terror groups seeking Israel's destruction.

8. Netanyahu: I Won't Allow Iran to Have a Nuclear Weapon
by Elad Benari
During his speech at the AIPAC Policy Conference on Monday night, Prime Minister Binyamin stressed that he would never allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon.
“Israel has exactly the same policy” as the United States when it comes to an Iranian nuclear weapon, said Netanyahu, adding, “The Jewish State will not allow anyone who seeks our destruction to achieve that goal. Some people refuse to acknowledge that Iran’s goal is to achieve nuclear weapons, but it enriches uranium to reach that goal.”
“If it looks like a duck, if it walks like a duck, if it quacks like a duck, then what is it? That’s right, it’s a duck. But this time it’s a nuclear duck and it’s time the world starts calling the duck a duck,” he added to a round of applause.
Netanyahu said that President Barack Obama and most world leaders understand that Iran’s goal is to develop nuclear weapons and that its claims otherwise are false. He said some people are willing to accept a nuclear Iran, claiming that the Ayatollah regime would not be crazy enough to use such weapons.
“I promise you that as Prime Minister I will never gamble with the security of the state of Israel,” he said.
Iran has broken every international rule, including targeting embassies, hanging women, and sponsoring Syria’s crackdown on protesters, Netanyahu pointed out. He said that Iran supports Hamas, Hizbullah and terror groups around Africa.
“From terror on the skies and terror on the ground, Iran is responsible for the murder of hundreds if not thousands of Americans,” said Netanyahu.
“Iran works for Israel’s destruction each day, relentlessly,” he said. “This is how Iran behaves today without nuclear weapons. Think of how they’ll behave tomorrow with nuclear weapons. Iran will be more reckless and a lot more dangerous.”
It’s time to start talking about the cost of not stopping Iran, said Netanyahu, rather than talking about of the cost of stopping it.
One example of the high cost of not stopping Iran is that the oil prices will really rise if a nuclear-armed Iran starts blackmailing the world, he added. As well, a nuclear-armed Iran will cause Saudi Arabia, Egypt and other countries in the region to want and aim for nuclear weapons.
“With nuclear weapons, Iran could threaten all of us with nuclear terrorism,” he said. “Think about what it would mean to have nuclear weapons in the hands of those radicals who lead millions of people in chants of death to America and death to Israel.”
“For the sake of our prosperity, for the sake of our security and for the sake of our children – Iran must not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons,” Netanyahu said.
He added the best thing would be for Iran to abandon its nuclear program peacefully, but noted that hasn’t happened yet. He said the diplomacy and sanctions against Iran have not worked.
“I appreciate President Obama’s efforts to impose even tougher sanctions against Iran, but unfortunately Iran’s nuclear program continues to run forward,” he said. “Israel has waited patiently for the diplomacy and sanctions to work. None of us can afford to wait much longer. As Prime Minister of Israel I will never let my people live in the shadow of annihilation.”
He dismissed calls by some that stopping Iran from getting the bomb would be more dangerous than letting it have the bomb, reminding the audience that in 1944 the U.S. refused to heed the call by the World Jewish Congress to bomb the Auschwitz concentration camp, claiming that “even more vindictive action than the Holocaust”, which killed six million Jews, could take place.
“The Jewish people are different today. We have a Jewish State and the purpose of the Jewish State is to defend the Jewish people,” said Netanyahu. “That is why Israel must always have the ability to defend itself, by itself, against any threats.”
He said Israel appreciates the alliance with the U.S. but said that “when it comes to Israel’s survival we must always remain the masters of our fate.”
Israel will continue to be the only place in the Middle East where minorities, including Arabs, enjoy full and equal civil rights, he said. “As prime minister of Israel, I will always protect Israel’s democracy. Always!”
