A former French airline CEO Marc Dugain claims that the US may have shot down Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 and then covered it up, adding to a rash of conflicting theories about the missing plane. In a six-page article published by French weekly Paris Match, Dugain claims that the Boeing 777 may have got into trouble and as it was approaching the US military base on the British territory of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean, it was shot down. US forces may have feared the plane was attempting a 9/11 style attack on the base, Dugain said. “It’s an extremely powerful military base. It’s surprising that the Americans have lost all trace of this aircraft. Without getting into conspiracy theories, it is a possibility that the Americans stopped this plane,” Dugain said, English-language website The Local reported Friday. Dugain said there were witness in the Maldives, the nearest islands to Diego Garcia about 500 kilometers to the north, who claim to have seen a “huge plane flying at a really low altitude” with Malaysian Airlines colors flying toward Diego Garcia. In August, the UK Daily Mirror reported that the MH370 was heading for the tiny Indian Ocean atoll of Diego Garcia, but the US Embassy in Kuala Lumpur denied this. A spokesperson for the US Embassy in Malaysia told the local Star newspaper at that time that there was “no indication that MH370 flew anywhere near the Maldives or Diego Garcia.” He added: “MH370 did not land in Diego Garcia.” Dugain writes that the aircraft, which disappeared on March 8 with 239 people on board, while on a scheduled flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, could have been hijacked remotely and then steered toward Diego Garcia. Another explanation, he says, is that an onboard fire forced the crew to turn off all electronic devises without damaging the plane’s exterior, allowing it to continue on autopilot with everybody on board asphyxiated. The US has consistently denied it has had any knowledge of the fate of the airliner, but Dugain doubts the US, which is “equipped with the best technology in the world” could have completely lost track of “a 63-meter-long object.” Sir Tim Clark, CEO of Emirates Airlines, the world’s largest, said in October that he thought information on what happened to the doomed airliner was being withheld by some people and that even with all its electronic communications systems turned off the plane would still be traceable by powerful military radar. There have been a host of theories about what could have happened to the missing airliner, some them seemingly more the stuff of thrillers than air crash investigators. British journalist and author Nigel Cawthorne said that it may have been shot down by military exercisesbeing conducted by Thailand, Japan, Indonesia, the US and personnel from China in the South China Sea. Even more far-fetched is that MH370 could have been flown north in the shadow of another plane and would have avoided detection on radar before branching off and landing at an airfield in north east China, Kyrgyzstan or Turkmenistan. A third claims there could have been a botched hijack attempt. Analysis of radar data shows the plane began to fly erratically and climbed to 45,000 feet before dropping to a very low altitude. The pilots could have flown like this to disorientate the hijackers or the hijackers themselves could have flown the plane up to this altitude to kill the passengers by starving them of oxygen by depressurizing the cabin, while they had access to another oxygen supply. Under this theory the attempts fails and the hijackers accidentally kill themselves. In October, the investigation was focused entirely around an underwater search. As of December 17, 11,000 square km of the seafloor had been searched. The search of the southwest Indian Ocean is being conducted by three vessels and is expected to be completed by May 2015. A former Bitcoin Foundation Inc. executive has been sentenced to two years in prison for facilitating anonymous cash-to-bitcoin swaps on the illicit online drug bazaar Silk Road. 25-year-old Bitcoin entrepreneur, Charlie Shrem, helmed BitInstant, a now defunct platform that allowed users to buy and sell the cryptocurrency online. Along with codefendant Robert Faiella, a virtual currency trader known as BTCKing, Shrem used the service to process nearly $1 million in bitcoins for Silk Road users. In addition to the prison sentence handed down Friday, Shrem has been ordered to pay a fine of $950,000. Faiella will be sentenced in January. Though not directly involved in the notorious gun-and-drug trading emporium that has been shut down twice by the FBI, Shrem pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting the unlicensed money transmitting business in September. Prosecutors underscored the seriousness of the crime, claiming that Shrem was well aware that his actions promoted “the evil business of trafficking in drugs.” District Attorney Serrin Turner said that Shrem was “moving drug money, not in the traditional way – online, but moving it nevertheless.” The entrepreneur was first arrested in January at New York’s JFK Airport after delivering a speech about bitcoins in Amsterdam. “I screwed up,” Shrem admitted to US District Judge Jed Rakoff. Hailed as a visionary by his supporters, Shrem argued that he would be better off out of prison, educating others about Bitcoin, which he called his “baby.” “The bitcoin community, they’re scared, and there is no money laundering going on anymore. They’re terrified. I need to be out there. If your honor grants me that, I can be out there in the world, making sure that people don’t do the same stupid things that I did,” he said. Shrem’s defense attorney, Marc Agnifilo, tried to blame his client’s involvement in Silk Road on youth and inexperience. Shrem was just 22 at the time of the crime. Judge Rakoff, however, didn’t buy that Shrem was just “some kid making a onetime mistake.” Rakoff said that Shrem “knowingly, willfully, to some extent excitedly and even passionately” violated the law. Shrem had faced up to six years in prison. Source The post Bitcoin pioneer jailed for 2 yrs over Silk Road ties appeared first on USAHM Conspiracy News. |

A recently released documentary about former government contractor Edward Snowden is being considered a potential candidate for the Academy Awards next year, but all isn’t well for the team behind the flick “Citizenfour.” Attorneys representing a Kansas man filed a civil suit in District Court on Friday last week in which they allege that Snowden, movie director Laura Poitras and others involved in making “Citizenfour” intentionally violated federal law by profiting off of the disclosure of state secrets. “This is an action on behalf of the American people to seek prompt imposition of the Supreme Court’s essential financial remedy – a constructive trust – to redress unjust enrichment by ensuring that ill-gotten gains are disgorged,” begins the civil action complaint. “This deters breaches of fiduciary duty, addresses irreparable damage to the safety of the American people and prevents dangerous disruption of foreign affairs due to irresponsible conduct of disloyal government operatives and entertainment industry collaborators.” According to the suit, Snowden and the film’s production team ran afoul of a 1979 Supreme Court decision in which the nation’s top justices agreed by a 6-3 vote that First Amendment rights don’t protect Americans from instances in which their speech breaches any “constructive trust” existing between the government and an agent privy to its inner workings. In the case of Citizenfour, the plaintiff — Horace B. Williams, a former secretary of the Kansas Department of Transportation and a retired Navy officer who once held a security clearance — says Snowden broke his agreement with the US government because he and the film crew will make a “covet financial gain for their misconduct,” namely discussing classified documents in a manner that makes them available to potential audiences of “foreign enemies.” While Snowden’s actions are illegal in their own right, the lawsuit alleges, Poitras, Praxis Films and other “Hollywood Defendants” listed in the complaint “glorifies international espionage for profit” and “have callously chosen to commercialize, capitalize and commoditize for the conscienceless benefit, the stolen CIA/NSA and other secret documents referred to and revealed in the film.” “Upon information and belief U.S. national security has been seriously damaged, human lives placed at risk or worse, and military and non-military assets compromised not just by Defendant Snowden’s actions but also by the Hollywood Defendants’ direct and indirect participation collaborating with Defendant Snowden to facilitate the dissemination of top-secret documents to foreign enemies,” the complaint continues. The disclosures contained in the film, the suit alleges later, could be worth upwards of billions of dollars, since they may necessitate the US government having to “protect human assets placed at risk, restore/revamp computer infrastructure, rebuild relationships with foreign governments and respond to various enemies’ resurgence efforts, due to the blowback associated with the film and the release of classified information to foreign enemies of this Nation.” Attorneys for Williams, who paid money to see the film, say the defendants should be declared unlawful benefactors of the pilfered Snowden files and thus be derived of any profits derived through Citizenfour. According to the complaint, the film has grossed more than $2.1 million as of this week, two months after first opening at select theatres. Since then, the film has been shortlisted for consideration ahead of next year’s Academy Awards in the category of best documentary feature. When contacted by Hollywood Reporter, Participant Media — a co-defendant in the case — declined to comment. Meanwhile, no fewer than two other films concerning the NSA leaker are currently in the works. Last month, The Guardian confirmed that actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt has accepted the role of Snowden in a forthcoming feature being directed by veteran filmmaker Oliver Stone. “This is one of the greatest stories of our time,” Stone said previously of the Snowden saga. At least ten people were injured, two gravely, as a minivan crashed into a Christmas market in Nantes, local media report. The driver attempted to stab himself to death following the crash, a second such incident in the country over the last two days. Reports on the number of injured are conflicting with Le Figaro suggesting there are 17 casualties, while Focusur.fr reports at least 12 were injured and five are in serious condition. A 25-year-old man “deliberately” drove the van into the market crowded with families and kids, local media say. After that he attempted to take his life, stabbing himself in the chest several times. A source close to the investigation told AFP that the man was seriously injured but alive. He was taken to hospital. Witnesses told L’Express the man was shouting “Allahu Akbar”. Now media reports suggest this was a “jihadist attack”, however this has not been confirmed by officials. The attacker, according to police sources, is white and holds a European passport. The market is now closed and the area is cordoned off. Source The post 10 injured as man drives van into Christmas fair in Nantes, France appeared first on USAHM Conspiracy News. |

A suspect has been taken into custody and charged with first degree murder for fatally shooting and running over a police officer in Tarpon Springs. The incident comes after a gunman killed two officers in NYC after issuing threats against police.d The suspect, identified as 23-year-old transient, Marco Antonio Parilla Jr. shot and killed veteran officer Charles Kondek early Sunday morning near the coastal town’s Sponge Docks, local media reports. The 45-year-old father of five had been on the force for 18 years. After shooting the officer, the suspect fled the crime scene in a white Hyundai sedan, before crashing into a pole, where he was arrested. Several city blocks around the crime scene were cordoned off Sunday morning as investigators collected evidence. During a press conference on Sunday afternoon, Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said Parilla had a trail of criminal activities with almost 30 felony arrests, and 15 misdemeanor arrests. “He should never have been on the streets to begin with,” Gualtieri said announcing that Parilla was released from the Florida Department of Corrections in March. Police established the suspect came to the apartment complex to confront a resident who Parilla thought had reported his probation violation. The assailant went on knocking on doors trying to locate the person he was looking for. That is when a resident noticed a gun on Parilla and called the police. Gualtieri said Kondek got to the area at around 2 am in response to a noise complaint and noticed something that made him call for back up. The Sheriff said that’s when Parilla began walking to the car, he fired a .40 caliber handgun at Kondek, striking him in the upper chest. Parilla then ran over the officer as he fled the scene, Gualtieri said. Two Tarpon Springs police officers were in pursuit of the fleeing car before it crashed into a power pole on Athens Street. Parilla then fled on foot, but was eventually taken into custody. Read More Here The post Police officer shot to death in Florida appeared first on USAHM Conspiracy News. |
