Bernie SandersThe Democratic National Committee Treads on Perilous Ground with Sanders
By earl ofari hutchinson
The third Democratic presidential candidate's debate got a distant second ranking in headline news to the very public warfare between Democratic presidential contender Bernie Sanders and the Democratic National Committee. The charges and countercharges between Sanders and the DNC over access to voter data were bad enough.

 It's Crunch Time for America
By Timothy Gatto
For years I have been writing about how our government has been hijacked from the people and how special interests have been manipulating the media to fulfill the agenda of the Military Industrial Complex. You can call it the Military Industrial Corporate Complex or any new-age nuance, but it is still the thing that Dwight President David Eisenhower described in his last addresses to the nationm

Yemen CrisisYemen Crisis: One More Reason to Re-evaluate the Toxic U.S.-Saudi Alliance
By Medea Benjamin
Saudi Arabia's involvement in Yemen has only destroyed lives and created a state of total chaos, and the U.S. government is complicit in the carnage. Both nations should, as part of the peace process, be forced to pay reparations for the tremendous damage their bombs have inflicted. The Yemen crisis should also serve as a prime moment for the U.S. to reconsider its alliance the Saudi regime.

Mimi KennedyDocumentary on Railroading of Don Siegelman In the Works!
By Joan Brunwasser
Steve Wimberly, the director, is filming interviews and B-roll right now. He's an Alabaman and knows the territory. The cumulative arc of specifics in Don's case will make very apparent that political persecution can happen and has happened in the United States, and it will happen again if we empower the bullies even further with civic laziness and a Pollyanna press that doesn't tell us the condition we're in.

By Gareth Porter
Despite Russia and the U.S. coming together on Friday to back a U.N.-approved peace plan for Syria, major obstacles remain, including the on-the-ground reality that U.S. "allies," such as Saudi Arabia and Turkey, have armed and financed powerful jihadist forces that won't compromise, as Gareth Porter explains.

Republican Candidates talk warRepublicans are so bullish on war that 30% would bomb a fictional country
By Trevor Timm
Republican voters, urged on by the Republican candidates, are now eager to bomb anywhere that has a Muslim-sounding name regardless of whether it comes from a cartoon. While the poll itself may be amusing, it's not exactly surprising given the cartoonish levels of tough-guy militarism that spews from the mouth of every Republican candidate.

By Bill Moyers
The problem is money. Tons of it. Trump brings ratings and ratings raise advertising revenue. What's more, in an insane election cycle like this one, cash already is pouring in from the production, sale and placement of political TV advertising, cash that also makes television executives and political strategists wealthy.

War and peace: Congress must exercise its Constitutional role
By Robert Weiner
As Congress now considers the pros and cons of new military action against ISIS in Syria, Afghanistan, and Iraq, both the House and Senate are reluctant to pass any war authorization despite the Constitution's requirement to do so. Not adhering to this process set forth by the Constitution can result in colossal failure. History does repeat itself.

Trump vs. SandersSanders wins small donors, Trump wins endorsement from Putin
By Brent Budowsky
While Sanders is clearly an underdog in the campaign for the Democratic nomination and has been subject to a virtual media blackout in television coverage of the campaign -- compared to the media's almost complete obsession to the daily doings of Trump -- it would be a huge mistake to count Sanders out in the campaign.

Image created from image creditingBernie Sanders Says What Republican Cowards Won't: Trump Is A Pathological Liar
During an interview on ABC’s This Week, Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders had the guts to do what Republicans are too afraid to do. Sanders called Donald Trump a pathological liar. Trump is winning the Republican primary because his opponents are too afraid alienating his voters to call him out. The fact that Sanders called him out so easily demonstrates that Donald Trump will be in for a very rude awakening if he wins the Republican nomination. Democrats aren’t afraid of Trump, and they will rip him to shreds if he is at the top of the Republican ticket.

Bernie SandersDemocratic National Committee Restores Bernie Sanders' Access To Voter Data
The Democratic National Committee agreed Friday night to reinstate Sen. Bernie Sanders' (I-Vt.) presidential campaign's access to its voter database, which had been suspended following a data breach. The DNC blocked Sanders' access to the data Friday morning, after Sanders campaign staffers wrongly accessed voter information from rival Hillary Clinton's campaign on Wednesday. Sanders' campaign claimed that the DNC "capitulated" as a deadline neared for a court hearing on a request for an emergency injunction that the Sanders campaign sought after suing the DNC in federal court Friday afternoon. Sanders' lawsuit sought the "immediate restoration" of the campaign's access to the database, arguing that the campaign would lose roughly $600,000 a day in donations without it. The campaign said in a statement that its access to the database should be restored by Saturday morning.

Bernie Sanders for PresidentDNC to Restore Voter Database to Sanders Campaign
Bernie Sanders’ grassroots base has just won a major victory in the battle with the Democratic National Committee. The DNC has bowed to demands to give access to the national voter database back to the Sanders campaign. According to a tweet from New York Times reporter Nick Corasaniti, the DNC will restore the Sanders campaign’s database access on Saturday morning: "The progressive outrage over the DNC’s decision dominated national news coverage from Friday morning to late evening. A MoveOn petition launched early Friday morning gained over 250,000 signatures in less than 24 hours. A similar petition by Robert Reich — former Secretary of Labor for the Bill Clinton White House — also went viral. Bernie Sanders’ campaign also launched a petition demanding the DNC restore access to the voter file, in addition to taking the DNC to court over the matter."
