Iran Activist Dies After Hunger Strike
News that Reza Hoda Saber died after a 10-day hunger strike came on the second anniversary of the disputed Iranian presidential election that set off the crackdown that put him in jail, along with many hundreds of other critics and intellectuals. Saber had been transferred to a hospital from Tehran's Evin prison, where he had been held since being imprisoned along with hundreds of other activists and intellectuals in the wake of Iran's disputed June 2009 election.
