Iraq Launches Oil, Gas Tenders
Iraq has opened its fourth postwar bidding round for oil and natural gas contracts, with dozens of firms hoping to secure rights to develop the country's energy sector. More Human Rights Watch is reporting that Iraqis are still being illegally detained at a Baghdad prison that the Iraq government claimed was shut down last year. More The United States special adviser on Camp Ashraf, says nearly 2,000 residents of the camp that's served for years as a base for a group Iran calls terrorists -- half the total -- have moved to a transit site called Camp Liberty. More The United States has denied reports that it may shut down a multibillion-dollar police-training program in Iraq, saying instead that it will be downsized at Baghdad's request.
