Bulgaria expects to produce a ton and a half of rose oil in 2012, according to Nedko Nedkov, director of the Institute of Roses and Essential Oil-Bearing Plants in the southeastern Bulgarian town of Kazanlak.

Bulgaria's former Ambassadors to Greece, Serbia and the Netherlands, Andrey Karaslavov, Georgi Dimitrov and Zlatin Trapkov, who won cases against Bulgaria's Foreign Ministry over their pre-term recall, will not be restored to their jobs and will most likely not be awarded any financial compensation.
The conclusions are based on the final decisions of the five-judge panels of the Supreme Administrative Court (VAS), which declared the termination of the three Ambassadors' business trips unlawful. read more

Kristalina Georgieva, European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response, is to visit her native Bulgaria on Monday in order to inspect the condition of two villages recently jolted by an earthquake.

BULGARIAN ARCHAEOLOGISTS FIND LATE ANTIQUITY CHURCH ON BLACK SEA COAST
Bulgarian archaeologists have found a church dating back to the late Antiquity period, which is located near the village of Sarafovo, on the Black Sea coast.
The site, which is close to the Bulgarian Black Sea city of Burgas, has been excavated by the team of Prof. Dr. Lyudmil Vagalinski, who is the Director of the National Archaeology Institute and Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, since the start of May 2012. read more

BULGARIAN ARCHAEOLOGISTS FIND WESTERN EUROPEAN KNIGHT'S DAGGER FROM SOZOPOL SIEGE
Bulgarian archaeologists have discovered an ornamented dagger belonging to a Western European knight during excavations of the fortress wall at the entrance of the Black Sea town of Sozopol.
"The archaeologists, who have been excavating the area before the fortress wall entrance of Sozopol for more than a year now, have come across a beautiful knight's dagger," announced Prof. Bozhidar Dimitrov, director of the Bulgarian National History Museum, as cited by Focus. read more
