Since I was a little girl I have believed in the power of wishes. I’ve never missed a first star, a dandelion plume, or load of hay (load of hay, load of hay, make a wish and turn away) to express to the universe my deepest desires.

When I was fifteen and my dad was at the end stages of cancer, I would wish on the first star, not to save him, but to plead a peaceful end. Since my oldest son passed away very unexpectedly in October of 2010, I have made hundreds of wishes to remember every detail I can about the boy who was the other half of my heart.

Bread is almost sacred in many cultures and society, but processed breads today are not what they were forty years ago. More than 70 percent of people who eliminate bread cold turkey experience an immediate weight loss within the first two weeks.

It is wrongly placed at the bottom of our food pyramid, which is taught to children in schools from a very young age. Some of these children grow up to be registered dieticians and promote the same nonsense. Processed grains in breads are unnecessary and even harmful to most metabolic types.

New evidence is now emerging that Malaysia Airlines flight 370 was almost certainly hijacked. This is now readily apparent from the fact that the aircraft cockpit electrical systems were tampered with, reports the Telegraph. (1)

Immediately after the aircraft was hijacked, the persons(s) in control of the flight deck powered down the aircraft's transponder which "squawks" location and altitude details to air traffic controllers.

Boeing 777 aircraft electrical systems can be independently powered down or restarted from the flight deck, as long as the person knows what they're doing.

This effort to power down the transponder caused a power outage of the plane's connection with a satellite, requiring that connection to be renegotiated to establish a new "handshake."

You’ve probably heard about those addiction studies with caged lab rats, in which the rats compulsively press the heroin dispensing lever again and again, even to the point of choosing it over food and starving themselves to death.

These studies seemed to imply some pretty disheartening things about human nature. Our basic biology is not to be trusted; the seeking of pleasure leads to disaster; one must therefore overcome biological desires through reason, education, and the inculcation of morals; those whose willpower or morals are weak must be controlled and corrected.

The rat addiction studies also seem to validate the main features of the War on Drugs
