New Directive On 'Modest' Dress Outrages Iraq's Female Civil Servants
Iraq's female civil servants are up in arms over a new government directive telling them to wear "modest" clothing. More Violence is increasing as Iraq goes through its worst crisis since U.S. troops left in mid-December. Many see the escalating violence as part and parcel of political feuding in Baghdad. More Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Iraq -- countries that have long occupied the lower rungs on corruption and freedoms rankings -- now have another disappointing evaluation to add to this list: they're positioned at the very bottom of the 2012 Environmental Performance Index (EPI).
