STATEMENT

Nepal: Mission finds worsening law reform, impunity and self-censorship

At the invitation of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, ARTICLE 19 joined 13 international media freedom organisations between 23-27 February and found continuing impunity and self-censorship – particularly outside Kathmandu – and a draft constitution with worse free expression provisions than its predecessor. Read more >

Ethiopia: Future of last remaining human rights monitoring NGO in Ethiopia in the balance

The Cassation Bench of the Federal Supreme Court of Ethiopia is expected to hear a petition by the Human Rights Council (HRCO) on 27 February 2012 to admit an appeal against the freezing of its bank accounts.
