Montgomery Blair Sibley has threatened to release phone records he claims will throw a kink in the presidential election. The disbarred attorney has threatened to release one or more names on the steps of the Supreme Court. “Time is of the essence because people are casting votes in primaries and caucuses,” said Sibley earlier this week. “I believe this information is relevant to that political discourse.” Currently, there are five viable candidates: Ted Cruz, John Kasich, Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton. The National Enquirer recently announced it will run a story in its April issue implicating Ted Cruz in a sex scandal. Cruz denied the allegation and the corporate media has mostly ignored the story. Sibley represented Deborah Jeane Palfrey, the so-called D.C. Madam. Palfrey ran an escort service catering to politicians and other government insiders. She was found dead in Tarpon Springs, Florida in 2008. Police ruled her death a suicide despite evidence to the contrary. Palfrey Silenced In March 2007, federal prosecutors moved to impose a gag order on Palfrey after she threatened to go public with client records following an indictment on racketeering and money laundering charges in connection with the operation of the Pamela Martin & Associates escort service. The case was unusual because it was one of very few prosecuted in federal court. “Palfrey’s clients came from all walks of life,” The Guardian reported on May 12, 2007. “There is a Bush administration economist, a prominent company chief executive, Nasa officials, men who work at the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, lobbyists for Republicans and Democrats, the commander of an air force squadron and at least five other military officers.” Convicted felon and former lobbyist Jack Abramoff and CIA director Porter Goss were also named. Palfrey passed the client list on to ABC News, but the network subsequently refused to do story, claiming the records did not contain names that were “newsworthy.” Brandy Britton, a former college professor who allegedly worked for the escort service, turned up dead after she was charged with prostitution. Five months later Palfrey was discovered hanging in a utility shed outside her mother’s mobile home in Florida. “I guess I’m made of something that Brandy Britton wasn’t made of,” she said before the discovery, claiming she would never commit suicide. Prior to her death, Palfrey told Alex Jones her escort service was being used as an intelligence cover to gather intelligence on individuals connected to the military. Palfrey also told investigative journalist Wayne Madsen she had “information that would have been of great interest to the 9/11 Commission—there’s information that they have [her call girls] that would have been very important for the 9/11 Commission to know having to do with intelligence they picked up about 9/11 before it happened.” Source |

GOP candidate Ted Cruz took the ongoing rivalry between himself and Donald Trump to new levels last night by ‘joking’ that he’d be tempted to seriously injure or kill Trump if he had the chance. Appearing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” the Texas senator was asked to reveal whom he disliked the most, Obama or Trump. “I dislike Obama’s policies more. Donald is a unique individual,” Cruz replied. “If I were in my car and getting ready to reverse and saw Donald in the backup camera, I’m not confident which pedal I’d push.” Cruz added. Really classy. The spat between Cruz and Trump has ratcheted up in the past week since Cruz retweeted an anti-Trump super-PAC ad showing a picture of Trump’s wife from a nearly nude magazine shoot. Trump hit back by tweeting out unflattering pictures of Cruz’s wife, and suggested he may “spill the beans” about her. The comments coincided with subsequent claims that Cruz has been unfaithful. Cruz also hit out at Trump Wednesday regarding the latter’s comments on abortion, charging that Trump “hasn’t seriously thought through the issues, and he’ll say anything to get attention.” Trump drew the ire of many during an interview with Chris Matthews, during which he said he thought women should potentially face punishments for having illegal abortions. Trump later backed away from the comments, saying that he would seek to abortion providers, rather than women who have abortions. During the same interview with Matthews, Trump again controversially refused to rule out the use of nuclear weapons in the Middle East and Europe as a means of defeating ISIS. “Look, nuclear should be off the table. But would there be a time when it could be used, possibly?” Trump stated. Ted Cruz is in fact creepy and weird, like everything else that comes out of the mouth of Ted Cruz. What a weirdo Ted Cruz is… as weird as when he did that Simpsons thing. People this twisted should not try to come across as normal, ever. They should just play-up the “I’m a creepy sicko and I have no regrets” angle. How could anyone vote for this idiot? Source |

Prisoners the world over are characteristically defined by their inability to move freely. Inmates at the Wabash maximum security prison in Indiana, however, were recently shocked to learn about one group that enjoys less time outdoors than they do: children. A global survey conducted on children’s time outdoors quickly became an ongoing campaign called “Dirt is Good” after the findings showed a concerning lack of outdoor playtime among children aged five to twelve. The results of the survey, commissioned by British laundry company Persil and conducted by an independent market research firm, revealed ⅓ of British children spend 30 minutes or less outside every day — and that one in five does not play outside at all on an average day. The researchers surveyed 12,000 parents spanning 10 countries: the United States, Brazil, U.K., Turkey, Portugal, South Africa, Vietnam, China, Indonesia, and India. The Dirt is Good initiative was founded based on the survey, and the short film of the same name, which features interviews with inmates, reports that “on average, children now spend less time outdoors than a prison inmate.” According to Dirt is Good, inmates receive at least two hours of time outside every day while most children enjoy an hour or less. The inmates interviewed in the short film expressed the importance of their outdoor time. “I think it’s probably the most important part of my day,” one inmate says. It “keeps my mind right, keeps my body strong,” another explains. Yet another calls his time outside “pretty much the highlight of my day.” The inmates were then asked how they would feel if their time outside were reduced from two hours per day to one. “I think it’s gonna build more anger, more — it’s not gonna be a good thing,” one inmate observes. Another says it would be “torture,” while a guard says, “I think cutting the offenders’ outside time to an hour a day is . . . potentially disastrous.” When the interviewer tells the inmates that children often receive only one hour of outdoor time per day, they are shocked, if not speechless. “That’s depressing,” one comments. “Climb a tree, break a leg; that’s part of life,” another says. “If you don’t have to throw the kids in the bathtub, they haven’t played hard enough,” the guard tells the camera. “Learn to be a kid, ” yet another inmate observes. The Dirt is Good campaign’s comparison between inmates and children is particularly fitting, considering critics of public education have pointed out the “criminalization of school spaces” and the resemblance of schools, at least in the United States, to heavily regulated prison environments. However, prison-like atmospheres, in general, are not the only problem. As the Washington Post summarized in an article about children being forced to “sit still” in class: “The problem: children are constantly in an upright position these days. It is rare to find children rolling down hills, climbing trees, and spinning in circles just for fun. Merry-go-rounds and teeter-totters are a thing of the past. Recess times have shortened due to increasing educational demands, and children rarely play outdoors due to parental fears, liability issues, and the hectic schedules of modern-day society.” The Post conducted its own study on several classrooms with seemingly ‘hyperactive’ children who had trouble sitting still, finding not just a lack of movement, but physical ramifications from the lack of activity. Noting that “many children are walking around with underdeveloped vestibular (balance) system[s]” due to restricted movement. Post columnist Valerie Strauss argued that “In order to develop a strong balance system, children need to move their body in all directions, for hours at a time. Just like with exercising, they need to do this more than just once-a-week in order to reap the benefits.” Whatever the cause of children’s reduction in time outdoors — whether excessive rigidity in schools, increased time on electronic devices, or parental fears about their child’s safety, for example — experts agree it’s a problem that must be addressed. The Dirt is Good campaign has launched a variety of initiatives to encourage outdoor play, including an “Empty the Classroom” day scheduled for June and tips for parents on gardening, outdoor excursions, and other ways to increase outdoor activity for children. The Dirt is Good campaign is chaired by two well-respected doctors who specialize in children and physical activity, as well as creativity. While some may gripe that the campaign is sponsored by a corporation — Persil is owned by Unilever — the project nevertheless advocates positive changes for children and offers suggestions to help parents improve their children’s lives. Further, it provides an example of harnessing corporate power, which is often and rightly reviled, to effect change; regardless of the sponsor, the message is vital. As one prisoner said: “I didn’t know what freedom was until it was taken from me. It’s devastating. I’ve had who I am inside inside stripped away. You can never escape the wall. You can never escape your mind. Then imagine they open your door; you have time to walk out that door and feel the sun on your face. It’s everything to me.” Source |

At least two armed far-right activists with Molotov cocktail have been arrested in the Molenbeek district, the notorious terrorist breeding ground of the Belgian capital, Belgian media reported. The individuals were in a car when they were arrested, Belgian RTBF reported. An anti-fascist protest was staged by leftist activists in the Place de la Bourse in central Brussels, Belgian RTBF said. At least 10 people were detained following the rally, including Alexis Deswaef, the president of the League of Human Rights. Later, police temporarily closed the area. Police made 19 arrests at the Place de la Bourse, according to RTL. “When I arrived, police told me to leave, adding that gatherings of extreme left and extreme right are prohibited. I explained that I was present [at the rally] as a private citizen, but I was still arrested,” Deswaef later told the Belga news agency. At least 250 police officers have been deployed to the scene of the protest in Place de la Bourse, media said. On Friday, Minister-President of the Brussels-Capital Region Rudi Vervoort called to ban all demonstrations in the Belgian capital. Various far-right groups, including the anti-migrant Generation Identitaire movement, called for demonstrations in Molenbeek on Saturday. Leftist groups have called for counter-rallies. Though the demonstrations were banned in Brussels following the March attacks, several rallies still took place in Belgian capital. Belgium has been recently on high alert following the attacks in Brussels Zaventem Airport and Maelbeek metro station that rocked the Belgian capital on March 22. The attacks left 35 people dead and over 270 injured. The Belgian prosecutor identified two suicide bombers as brothers Khalid and Ibrahim El Bakraoui. According to Belgium’s RTBF public broadcaster, both brothers, residents of the capital, were known to police for links to organized crime, but not for terrorism. Source |
