Market Commentary: Market Viagra Keeping Markets Up As New Highs Made

Written by
Closing Market Commentary For 10-18-2013
The DOW finally saw green today and the small caps are raging like a bull pushing upwards setting new highs along the way. The large caps are still testing previous highs with the exception of the SP500 that reached a new high earlier this afternoon but on relatively low volume. It descended somewhat on much higher volume signaling weakness.
That SP500 high, however, is still in the resistance 'zone' and hasn't broken out yet. Plus, the bullish up trend lines haven't been broken either, so it is more than possible to continue melting upwards in the near term. All of this bullishness is directly contributed the QE Infinity and someday this 'Market Viagra' isn't going to work any more.

Market Commentary: Markets Sea-Saw Consolidating For Next Move

Written by
Midday Market Commentary For 10-18-2013
Noontime rolled around and the averages are doing the sea-saw thing on low to moderate volume. Not enough volume to be testing the upper resistance so the markets must be consolidating.
Seriously, the numbers are not there for further advancement, but the 'Market Viagra' being supplied by the Feds every month is certainly have its effect providing support for an otherwise floundering economy.

Market Commentary: Markets Open Up Testing Upper Resistance

Written by
Opening Market Commentary For 10-18-2013
Markets opened up cautiously (+0.10%) after the premarkets were flat until the opening bell. Volume is low and the DOW has remained in the red but closer to the positive line. Small caps are pushing ahead at +0.85% which is bullish, but being so close to previous highs I would consider this a test of that resistance.

Terminal Velocity (25) 'The Final Curtain'

Written by Adam Whitehead, KeySignals.com
Terminal Velocity 'And Now the End Is Near' observed the onset of the next financial crisis crystallizing around the confusion emanating from the Federal Reserve. The Fed has created the tide of liquidity that has sustained the recovery in financial markets; and the recovery in the US Economy to a significantly lesser extent. Any uncertainty emanating from the Fed therefore ripples through the financial markets and the economy with greater amplitude. Read more >>

USA Shutdown: The Laughing Stock of the World

by LEAP/Europe 2020, Leap2020.eu
It's one of those times when history accelerates. Whatever the outcome of the negotiations on the shutdown and debt ceiling, October 2013 is one of them. It's the deadlock too far which has opened the eyes of those who still support the United States. A leader is followed when he is believed, not when he is ridiculous.

China: GDP Growth Increases

Econintersect: The third quarter GDP report from China shows an increase to a breakingnews130px7.8% year-over-year rate. The second quarter was 7.5%. The 3Q reading was also higher than the first quarter growth of 7.7%. The sustainability of the growth rate above 7.5% is being questioned though. Data in recent days has shown slowing of growth in industrial production, retail sales and investment for the month of September. However, the data for the first three quarters seems to assure that China will meet its official target of producing growth for the year of at least 7.5%.
