by Lauren McCauley A police crackdown will not deter France's burgeoning Nuit Debout (or 'Up All Night') movement that has swept across the country in recent weeks as the unifying call for change sparked protests in over 50 cities this weekend. Riot police early Monday cleared the encampment in the Place de la Republique in central Paris after 11 nights of protest, but demonstrators have vowed to maintain their nightly vigil. A study revealed that cases involving one in every six deaths at the hands of police officers during the first three months of 2015 were declared ‘justified,’ and the officers who did the killing were quietly returned to work without announcement by authorities or reports from local media.
(Sputnik) — A project initiated by The Guardian has been counting cases involving killings of civilians by US law enforcement agencies beginning in 2015, as the federal government doesn’t keep track of incidents of police killings or the outcome of investigations. An analysis of data obtained for the project revealed that of 289 people killed in the first quarter of 2015, 202 cases were ruled justified or accidental, including those in which circumstances or an officer’s actions were brought into question. Under fire for pulling the VAXXED documentary from the Tribeca Film Festival — after being pressured by pharma-funded media trolls and the Nazi-linked Sloan Foundation — Robert De Niro has taken a stand for public debate about vaccines and autism.

Robert De Niro was at first hailed by the autism community for his courage to show the film, which tells the story of CDC whistleblower Dr. William Thompson, who openly admitted to taking part in altering scientific data at the CDC to hide statistical links between vaccines and autism. I want to believe, really I do, but there’s just so much doubt mixed in with the testimonies, the discoveries and the images. I get discouraged sometimes.
