Pamplona Capital Management, which submitted a bid for Bulgarian telecom operator Vivacom, serves as a back-up option for Turkey's Turkcell, according to local media reports.
Pamplona Capital Management LLP, a London-based private equity firm, the third bidder to meet the February 27 offer deadline for Vivacom, is meant to serve as Plan B, should the Turkish mobile-phone giant be disqualified for some reason, Capital Daily reported, citing well-informed sources. read more

BULGARIA STARTS CONSTRUCTION OF HWY TO GREEK BORDER
Bulgaria is holding Thursday, April 5, the groundbreaking ceremony of the 15-km Lot 4 of the Struma Highway.
On March 19, the Greek company Aktor and the Bulgarian Road Infrastructure Agency signed the contract for the construction of Lot 4 of the Struma Highway leading from Sofia to the Bulgaria-Greece border. read more

EFG Eurobank, one of Greece's major banks with Bulgarian subsidiaries, announced it is about to sell its 70% stake in Turkish unit Tekfen to Kuwait's Burgan Bank.
"EFG Eurobank announced that it is in advanced discussions with Burgan Bank from Kuwait to sell its full participation in Eurobank Tekfen," the Greek lender said in a bourse filing. read more

Customs Agency head Vanyo Tanov has recommended the adoption of clear and exact rules and the prevention of monopolistic practices in public procurement as the right steps to ensure lower prices of fuels.
Following a meeting with Ivan Kostov, leader of the right-wing Democrats for a Strong Bulgaria (DSB) in Parliament, Lukoil Bulgaria CEO Valentin Zlatev told journalists that he would propose a set of measures aimed at reducing "the unbearable" prices of fuels to the Economy Minister on Thursday. read more
